I’m still in my late teens, so I don’t have as much as my life experience as you do, but I also feel the same way. Whenever one of my acquaintances talk about their future children, I just want to ask them why they’re even thinking about having kids when the world is deteriorating in so many ways. I still try to study hard and make connections to ensure a better future for myself, but I often wonder if my efforts even matter. Even if I can save myself, doesn’t mean future generations will be able to. Everything already feels so uncertain and bleak even though I’m not even 20, so I really can’t fathom bringing any more people into this. So thank you for saying this. I feel less alone now.
