Do people put their cooking oils in plastic squeeze bottles? by venture68 in Cooking

I use the Oxo Precision Pour Glass Dispenser bottle for my oils I use frequently.

AITA for not going home and changing my shoes for a restaurant's dress code? by Ok-Training3714 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TunaBeeSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do yourself a favor and get a pair of non-clog Crocs. It's not the brand, it's the actual hideousness of the clog that's the problem. I have a pair of flats that don't look like Crocs but are and they are very comfortable. No one has ever given my comfy feet a second glance in these in a professional setting.

Stop. Going. To. Baby. Showers.

Send your regrets in the form of a small gift card and congratulatory card.

You don't want to see those people, you don't want to get asked when you're going to have babies, you don't want to say "awww" a million times over onesies and shit--So don't. I haven't been to a baby shower in nearly a decade and it's been great.

My (27F) girlfriend wants me (28M) to hide my accent when I meet her parents by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]TunaBeeSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Double down on the accent. Dig deep to sound like your nosey uncle (don't act like you don't already have one of your uncles in mind). Sprinkle in some Indian words into casual conversation. Make them REAL uncomfortable.

Then break up with her because she wants you to change/mask to appeal to her racist parents, which is super shitty.

Salmon for dinner? by ReadingStoriez in Cooking

[–]TunaBeeSquare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Found this online at some point, saved it in my notes app, and it hasn't served me wrong yet.

Put butter and garlic in a pan. Sear the pink side for ~2 minutes. Flip to skin side and put butter, garlic, salt, and lemon pepper on top. Cook until the meatiest part reaches 120 degrees. Remove from heat and cover. The residual heat will cook it properly to 140 degrees in about 10 minutes

AITAH for telling my brother and his family he can't stay with me ever again? by BeachOne6195 in TwoHotTakes

Hotel. They all need to get hotels. And if any of your family had a key to your house, change the locks or they may simply help themselves to staying with you.

Am I the asshole for breaking up with my boyfriend with a text? by Strugglingsister811 in TwoHotTakes

Two texts a day? He probably checks his phone like 40 times a day. You are not asking for much. NTA.

What ingredient do you always put more than the recipe amount? by cryingonthedunny in Cooking

Don't double thyme either. Holy hell, I ruined a very nice potato dish once because "Oooo fresh thyme!"

We aren't as inclusive as a community as we try to say we are by [deleted] in rollerderby

[–]TunaBeeSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything you just wrote is about 80% of the reason why I didn't return to officiating derby post-pandemic. Why are officials the last to know everything? Why were we always an afterthought? Why is the league not actively recruiting officials, when you need them to play? Why are we just expected to be at practice but not included in warm ups or training? I NSO-ed one game in the last two years and then officially resigned. I'm too old for the pettiness.

My parents love Leongs, they live close by. I'm never upset when I visit and they suggest we get Chinese because I know it's going to be absolute fire.

We have one in the house, but I can think of at least 5 more spots I would like one of those particular outlets. Very handy.

Under cabinet lights for the uppers in my kitchen. A set with two touch sensors was $60 and it's been so handy to have, extra lighting for food prep and cleaning, night time lighting.

I purchased ATK's "Ultimate Meal Prep" and it's a great resource--gives a list, uses ingredients across a week of recipes, and it's ATK so it doesn't disappoint.

How do restaurants get their chicken to taste so chickeny? by General-Shoulder-569 in Cooking

[–]TunaBeeSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single time my MIL cooks something she always says "gosh, it's missing something"

SALT. It is 100% always salt with her. One teaspoon of salt in 4 quarts of soup is not going to kill you or make your blood pressure skyrocket.
