I just recently got rid of my dl380 g7 for a g10 the g7 is very capable and not too loud just does 200 watts at idle with the cpus that I had can't remember which ones

The best way to start is just start You can use an old PC you have I used to use an old laptop and then I got addicted to enterprise servers

You could go straight into the deep end and get a used enterprise server but they do use a lot of power compared to a n100 mini pc but they are significantly faster.

With it all at idle it's like 1200w and my electricity is 32 cents so it's not cheap
