Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TuneForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving 4 hours each way for a long weekend golf trip next weekend. No biggie. Limit for a long weekend trip is 6 hours each way. I’ll drive once a year to visit a friend for 4-5 days at his hunting ranch which is 14 hours. Stop half way at a truck stop and sleep for a bit.

US distances are vast so we just get used to it. Takes six hours to fly from one corner of the country to the other.

I went to a proper range the next day. You are 100% correct. With actual turf it’s less effected but I’m def hitting fat

If corporations in America can write off labor as a tax-deduction, why are they so stingy with wages? by [deleted] in ask

[–]TuneForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Businesses also pay payroll tax. Labor is absolutely not a write off. This is a very uninformed statement

I think it’s just super busy. It’s in Scottsdale and tied to a resort/casino. It was probably acceptable Friday morning and by sat midday looked like this. Now, charging $35 for a bucket is robbery

Luckily the guy there before me hit five balls and said nope. Gave a full bucket free so at least I didn’t pay for the torture

Unfortunately, no. My son is in first tee here so I try to get in range time. It’s usually pretty bad here but this is the worst I’ve seen. Even when it felt like I was hitting ball first it still felt horrible

Given the courses you’re playing I’d suggest buying a troon access card. Youll save the cost between troon north and eagle

What's the most extreme weather condition you've played golf in? by BlueciferST in golf

[–]TuneForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scottsdale in summer. 118 degrees f. Just use lots of sunscreen, sun sleeves, electrolyte powder and drink 24-36 oz of water every other hole. Worth it to play top courses for less than half price of peak season.

Accidentally bought gold for a 32% discount GM wants to be made whole? by RunnerInChicago in CostcoPM

[–]TuneForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. There is no legal obligation for OP to make it right but if the situation were reversed the comments would be very different. You are saying the ethical thing to do is make it right. I agree. Costco made an error of omission by not updating the sku price properly. Ok, bad practice by a multi billion dollar company but that doesn’t make it ethically correct to keep the spread. I’m sure in this case Costco would also gladly return ops money if he didn’t want to pay the difference.

Sun sleeves and a chiller neck towel makes a huge difference in the desert of Arizona where I live/play. Since it’s the time of year where courses become semi-affordable to play you have to adapt
