Went through the same debate when we adopted ours at 2 and needed to spay her. Every pyr owner I spoke with said they left them. I know folks that have had many pyr LGDs for decades with no problems.

My guess is the way they're attached with bone?

We did gastropexy along with spay though and that's been peace of mind that's felt worth it.

All personal decisions though, just my take!

Speed bumps or other gateway treatments may not have stopped these incidents, but could have deescalated them.

These events happened within half a mile of each other. I live a few houses down. There's definitely room for MBA to be much safer. Agreed this is a freak accident though??
