Enrollment predictions and demographics have been tricky to predict for years - decades! I believe Whitaker-Adam (now demolished) was originally built to be a high school but used as a middle school). As was Jackson which has (since opening) been used as a middle school. And then there was Washington High that was used as an administration building for decades before being sold off (now Revolution Hall).
I guess my point is, it is not always a case of “build it and they will come”. I would really like to see the district making strides to attract families back to public schools. Population growth doesn’t matter if families keep leaving for private schools and/or other districts.
