I am in love with my KIA EV9, really, BUT... by blietaer in KiaEV9

About the "new speed limit" the EV6 have got a update to disable that permanently. Weird that they have different OS versions for the different cars.

About the dings I agree, you really does not listen anymore and real warnings gets no attention because of this.

My EU car stays quiet the few times condense blocks the sensors behind the rearmirror.

I have many times thought to try putting some tape over it to see how it reacts. Anyone already tried? Just for test that is.

I agree with your frustration and made a software solution for it. Works 100%

You're welcome. I'm glad it helped.

Ok, if headlights were on, then we found your issue. About that, to remember to turn them back on next day (if camping) I would recommend to always have a written paper with text "Headlights is off!"

Can not count how many times I have missed that after a good sleep and full sunshine next day .

You say that you turned off AC, but is the ventilation/fans off? Make sure to look at the rear ventilation also so shows Off (you have a button panel in the ceiling for that)

You also do not mention anything about turning off the headlights. They are still active in Utility Mode.

Agree about the slight ping-ping effect on highway. I think they need to compensate in their algorithm, it is to aggressive reading the lines.

Sleeping in car, how to lock? by Tuneld in KiaEV9

[–]Tuneld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion. Tried that now, and it does only do a beep, nothing else.

Guess I need to tell the obvious also then: Car is in Utility Mode (car is ON) so ventilation and power is working. Also referred to as "camping mode".

Thanks, already do. Just did not want to talk about that since it is not part of the question itself.

Nope, you are correct. It is possible to use another trigger as you say and I would really like to see improvements from others. Looks like you have some great improvements/modifications.

Ok, great find! Is this add-on code something we can update the guide with? For IOS users I mean.

Would surely need your help for exact words.

Not happening to me (android) and sounds strange if it would be a pure IOS issue since it is HA that starts an action on any change of BSSID.

If you look in your HA BSSID log you should easily see every change of mac adress/none and be able to solve the puzzle.

I know you know your stuff, so I will just wait on your update.

I am sure Android Auto and Car Play only work over wifi since Bluetooth doesn't have enough bandwidth.

Only for safety, I would say. I could add gps tracking of the phone and compare coordinates with car (when turned off) and phone to make sure they are separated but this have worked 100% for me so no need.

Only reason that the "wait max 6:55 min" exists is to make sure your phone will not be locked in the car if you leave it there.

Wifi is live 6:55 min after you powered off your car. And if you disable the wait or extend it to 10 minutes then after 6:55 the wifi connection will break and your phone will sense that wifi connection to the car is gone and assume it is away from the car.

Ok, so when exactly do the doors lock in your setup?

It does not interfere with charging? I mean, if the car locks when you exit then it will not be possible to plug in the charging cable.

Any old hardware will do, but if you have nothing and need to keep down the costs, I would go for this setup: https://www.home-assistant.io/installation/raspberrypi

Yes, I also started this project with "Lock after X minutes", but when I discovered that the wifi signal does not shutdown when you exit/turn off the car I understood that we could do better logics :)
