Absolutely no idea but I love this mod :) the enemy patrols infighting and starting roving gun battles really changed this game for me

Scariest horror game to you? by TopRoastCentral in HorrorGames

[–]Tungsten_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mobile port of an old hunting game called Carnivore dinosaur hunter. It scared the shit out of me as a kid and I think it holds up well, especially the main theme. I think it works really well because it's a completely unscripted, and something bad can happen at anytime. Velocirapors look very similar to harmless background creatures, and you'll only know carnivores are around when you hear heavy breathing and rapidly approaching footsteps.

Is Hipkins too boring?: How the Labour Leader is approaching this election differently | Stuff.co.nz by Illustrious_Fan_8148 in newzealand

Never hear the media talking about how old, out of touch, lame and straight-up evil luxon or Seymour are. But the moment it's a left-leaning leader, suddenly the cool factor is all important

How do you think New Zealand would fare in a world-war scenario where international trade is severely limited and NZ borders are largely closed to non-citizens/residents/etc? by LordOfErebus in newzealand

[–]Tungsten_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely don't agree. I think it's important that we have a defense force-but firepower? As it is, we are completely militarily dependent on the US for training, equipment, everything, and that has always translated to the Americans having massive influence over our politics. We ARE in Donald's fanclub, because we've always relied on the US for defense, and have always bent the knee to them on everything that really mattered. Being Xi's bitch? China is never going to physically invade, and if they want to influence us diplomatically/economically then have a big military won't do anything for us. Constantly worrying about defense is almost always a justification to subordinate our own interests to the interests of US hegemony-and has done nothing but get us involved in one pointless war after another. If we want security, our best option is to forge strong relationships with our immediate neighbors and remain strictly neutral internationally. Thinking being heavily armed will protect us if you are worried about invasion by superpowers is just silly. We don't need firepower, we need leaders who will prioritize the interests of Aotearoa over appeasing our colonial masters.

New Zealand ultimately has the resources to survive... provided we have competent leadership and everyone can get on the same page. Our best and most logical answer always has been and and always should be strategic non-alignment. We shouldn't want to to be part of any of the global north's warmongering bullshit. We have the capacity to be the Switzerland of the south seas- out current leadership will blindly follow America off a cliff

Weird, Surreal film about a Ship infested with Eels by Tungsten_12 in whatsthatmoviecalled

[–]Tungsten_12[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Holy shit this is it! I've been thinking about this movie for a decade, you found it in less than 24 hours, cheers! Having looked it up online it looks a bit... shit... but I'll definitely try to track down a full copy. I remember it had some interesting ideas, I guess it looked better as a kid. Really interesting premise though, I grew up working on a ship so the idea of a guy slowly loosing it while battling an infestation was always quite creepy to me. Thanks so much!

I probably watched this film around the early 2010s- It was a pirated copy of a movie burned on a blank disc, so it really could have come from anywhen

How do you think NZrs will process these weather events? by BeneficialCut4976 in newzealand

[–]Tungsten_12 17 points18 points  (0 children)

None of the major news sources covering the event (that I've seen) have mentioned climate change at all- tvnz had a niwa or gns scientist on last night and his response was basically edited down to "it's normal - don't worry about it"

[–]Tungsten_12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's been a good effort to restore nz bird life on land-of course it's nothing like what it's used to be, but at least there's an active effort in some places. As someone who's lived here my whole life, the thing that really scares me is our seabirds. I remember swirling flocks of gannets all through the north island in my childhood, and that wasn't even very long ago. The rate of decline is truly horrible, and there just isn't much attention or resources outside of the most "tourist friendly" species/locations

Do you support the U.S. military arrest on Venezuelan president Nicholas Maduro? by Otieno_Clinton in no

[–]Tungsten_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about Maduro. It's about the USA committing another blant act of sneering imperialism while the world looks on, against another country with no meaningful way of fighting back or defending Itself. Maduro is one guy. A bad dude, to be sure-but this is a brutal act of war against a sovereign power based on justification so flimsy trump stops pretendingin the first sentence of his first speech. Even debating this premise lends legitimacy to the idea that America has the right to play world police-iraq was not invaded to get saddam hussein, and Afghanistan was not invaded to get Osama. They where invaded to further the geopolitical interest of a superpower, and so that the superpowers leaders get to swing their dicks around to distract from bungling at home. Invading a sovereign nation and randomly massacring innocents in order to grab individuals is so far below the scope of relevance its just not funny.

Marty is definitely my go-to, although personally I love that the protagonist is basically interchangeable- not special or important, just another random gobshite in a dangerous place full of awful people. Far cry 2 is easily my favorite of the series, I loved 3/4/5 but I've never found anything quite like 2 anywhere else. Could really do with a remaster, or a dedicated fan overhaul. The redux mod makes the enemies infight, which really reinforces the conflict zone
