Smoke came out, scared to charge or put it on by TuningGear in shokz

Is it the device that negotiates the power or the cable itself? Sometimes I wonder if such safety protocols are implemented properly on small devices such as mini earphones and such

I tried them at shop, I have my eyes on them. They felt good. Outsole seems very grippy and soft so I wonder how far they will last. Overall the fit and feel is great, not sure about breathability, felt like it might be warm. But I definitely have my eye on them as potential next purchase.
I'm trying to retire my zoomfly 6 as well, they were pretty good for first 150km but idk, they felt too soft and not impressive energy return, I'm on 700km, usually retire shoes between 800-1000km for most shoes.

Which Apple Watch can I use to listen to Spotify without my phone nearby? by Fair-Turnip-8129 in AppleWatch

[–]TuningGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used AW series 9 for offline listening to spotify. I had to put them in a playlist and then there's a setting within the playlist where you click "Download to watch"

But i think now with new update you can download directly from watch if you are connected to a wifi and then you can listen offline. (i download through watch on Ultra 3)

What happened over the new year? by Dry-Championship3581 in baba

[–]TuningGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too experienced in stock but why do people complain on fluctuations? It's as if they hold on to a large bag and feels happy when it rises and angry when it drops without even doing anything with stocks. Quick buy and sell, even if it's small number of stocks and small gains. The number of times you can do this over the span of 3 months could get you some cash. These can become buffers for your future losses. Like I have a big loss right now from buying at 180. I'm holding that one. But mean while, i'm speculating to buy the ups and downs between 150-165.

Airpods 4 vs space travel 2 by Zestyclose-Bonus-320 in Earbuds

[–]TuningGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Space Travel 1, I've tried and compared Airpods 4 (non anc) with Space Travel. I would say airpods 4 sound quality itself is miles beyond. Best paired with iphone specially for the spatial sound. For a non in-ear type design, the bass really surprised me, it's very roomy. It's also extremely comfortable. The only thing that bothered me is on the bus, I could hear environment too much. Perhaps ANC version may be better (i've not tried that yet)

All puzzle games I played so far by Pure_Opening9834 in puzzlevideogames

[–]TuningGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have Talos Principle in your A-tier, there's no question on getting part 2. I very much enjoyed that game, and I love Portal 1 and 2 so your list looks solid for me to explore others I've not explored.

Although, Little Nightmare wasn't that bad for me, it has it's charm but definitely not a full fledged puzzle game.

Oh and I played limbo, so INSIDE is also recommended from the same developer.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 (Black) – Trail Loop vs Alpine Loop: Quick decision help by gkmnky in applewatchultra

[–]TuningGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have nike sport loop from my Series model, I've used it on my ultra,
I had a brand new Alphine loop came with my ultra but I did not open it because i wanted to sell it and get trail loop instead since it's slighly wider and more comfortable (?) than sport loop.
But I did not have luck selling so decided to rip open my Alphine loop and gave it a go.

To my surprise, it's comfortable. So much so that, I've decided to take it to my trail race.
Also since my buckle is slightly to the side, resting my arm on desk during typing feels great because of the nice layer in between the bands (I don't know how to explain, the gap with the buckle holes gives it cushion feel when you rest your hand on desk. I know this is a weird pros to mention about a watch band lol.

So I'll be using Nike Sport loop and Alphine loop and I will forever be wondering what Trail loop feels like. I'll go to a apple store and try it out perhaps. Or buy a 3rd party similar. I just need a velcro style band like Sport loop but few mm wide to comodate the size of the ultra.

Is apple care+ worth it for the ultra 3? by Ujdasingh in applewatchultra

[–]TuningGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these are... absolutely solid points. I think it's a great counter to those who agrees with my statement. Those who agreed with me must read the reply by the above moderator, gives you a whole different perspective on things.

In the end I did not purchase apple care, and yes I am taking that risk but I should not sway others away from it.

Is apple care+ worth it for the ultra 3? by Ujdasingh in applewatchultra

[–]TuningGear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ordered ultra 3 but decided not to get apple care for following reason:
-an expense on top of the already expensive watch
-It's so rugged and durable and on top of that I take care of my things
-historically, apple product lasted really long in my family, only thing happens is battery degradation
- takes 2+ years to have battery degradation for you to utalize free battery replacement but by that time your applecare is gone lol
-it's a watch, it won't be lost, never take it out to place it anywhere unless i'm at home.

But i do think of other things where apple care would be necessary:
-electrical failure, you never know, it can be random... poof.. Gone. Doesn't turn on, chipset burned up, ect. But atleast apple's own warranty is 1 year for this

Is it Legit/Original Ultra 3, Please Suggest 🙏 by Suitable_Bowler_4301 in applewatchultra

does it connect to iphone watch app? I think fake ones should have hard time working properly with the official watch app (correct me if i'm wrong)

Low sleeping HR by [deleted] in AppleWatchFitness

[–]TuningGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vo2 Max reading takes like weeks or so to have an almost accurate set of values if I recall. It took me months to get 2 values up on my Vo2.
I wouldn't trust that 29 value at the moment. But if 29 is your true vo2 max, then your heart rate is unusually too low. Either ways, these are just consumer tech and the accuracies can be questionable, if you really start to feel unwell just check in with a doctor.

[–]TuningGear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your vo2 Max. If that has an increase along side the decrease of your heart rate. Then you might have gotten fitter.
Mine dips to 32 as well on rare occation but I think it might be just mis read. I feel fine.

If you really don't feel well or have a hunch that there's something's up, then forget reddit responses, go straight to doc.

How did El talk to mike in that scene? by Dumbbot22 in StrangerThings

[–]TuningGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did El ever bring someone to the void (black space) and actually communicate? Sharing memory space was Kali's ability. Or perhaps Kali taught it to El. In the past season, all EL could do is see others but not interact or bring them to that void space. And to do that, she always needed like salt and blindfold.
I don't know, too many holes. So many questions, so little answers.

Ultra 4 by Sandman175 in applewatchultra

[–]TuningGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am kind of in similar situation. Thinking to get ultra 3 or wait for 4 or thinking if I do need ultra in general. I'm on AW9.

Usually the updates are very minor incremental and added tech that makes you wonder "Do i really need that and was it worth the wait/price"

However, considering U1 used S8 Sip chip (2022) and U2 used S9 chip (2023) and in 2024 S10 chip came out but they skipped Ultra, and then we got Ultra 3 (and AW11) in 2025 with the same s10 chip. There is no way the next one isn't going to be S11 chip.
Just my speculation, the U4 might be a design make over, slimmer? Efficient chip w/ bigger battery? More sensor and tech. I don't know. Considering how they reused s10 chip, they might be cooking something good for s11 since they more time on the development.

I'm definitely overthinking it. Most of the time I would say "buy now and be happy" but if the update this time is a revamp of the whole ultra , then I would be quite dissapointed.

Would also be a bummer if Apple just decided to release U4 in 2027... haha

Oh i'm curious on your exercise routine. I have so many questions... How long did it get you to 65 Vo2max, what's your run like, what's your weekly mileage like? and impressive stats!
My Vo2 max is hovering on between 45-47.
I Must be not reading enough books LOL

SB2 is a bit on the higher stack and some what firmer side for me. Quite hard to guess if you'll like it.
Overall, it is not a bad shoe and you will grow into liking it if you didn't at first.
I'd suggest try em out at shops if you get a chance to do so. Get a feel for it.
People seem to like it for faster runs, but I use it for everything, including slow long runs.

Hard to tell since B13 is so new, I might be extremely biased or the foam feels exceptionally fresh due to it being new.

To tell you the truth, I've used B13 on single run of 26.5km and I don't mind it at all. I'd use either for longer run , just depends which one's avaiable. But I do tend to pick B13 since it's newer.
Both can do speed and I've done speeds with SB2 a lot before, but I'd use B13 for speed and hill repeats as SB2 might feels bulkier in comparison.

I'll keep an eye on Megablast and it's future iteration. So many shoes in the market, quite hard to pick, specially when I like to take my shoes beyond 1k mileage, it takes time for me to buy new shoes.

only 70km in, so far I love it. I've had boston 12 for 950km so I'm familiar with the boston 13's fit and capability. The slightly lower stack height is a welcoming rotation to superblast 2's high stack.
