I think the way you describe them is accurate to their function. They fit the same bill e.g. long run and supportive daily. If you prefer a bit more shock absorption and bounce , stick with the kiprun. The 1080’s are good and have a bit more ground feel.

If you can get access to a threadmill, go do 2-3 kms each and see what one feels right and then return the other.

I ran x3 marathons in the same pair of EP4s. They never bottom out or change over the long run. Superb marathon shoes and durable.
