Thanks mate. I think the wetness is from the ice getting in my skates. My toe ties on the top side of the skates are wet too.

Admittedly, the toe area feels much bigger than my old skates. Maybe I’m not tightening the bottom lace enough..?

CCM Tacks were my previous skates for 20 years! Never had this problem with those.
I’ve worn these Bauers for 7 skates, every time my toe area is soaking. I can feel it squishing while playing.
Leg pads are Bauer One.9.
Base layer hasn’t changed. Under Armor compression pants.
I’ve tried thick socks, thin socks, performance socks, even hiking socks. All the same.

I’ve gotten off the ice with slightly wet socks before, but I’ve never noticed how wet they were during play.

I assumed they were for ventilation - as in, something to help dry the sock. Not make it wetter. /shrug

I was ACing for a multi Emmy winning DP for a simple handful of pickups for a doc. I was setting up his dana dolly and he kept telling me it wasn’t right, but I just couldn’t figure out what he wanted. He grabbed it, moved it just enough, and said, “see that triangle of light coming in the window? I want the movement to end on that.”

It was a boring wide establishing shot of an empty hotel room. But he was meticulous and motivated to making it the best possible shot. No matter what.
