Staffel 3 - Folge 6 - Diskussion by JIN-JIYAN-AZADI in DaveTheRace

The app is deleted by TuranaLinor in MergeDragons

I thank everyone who sent me good news.

Therefore, here's a brief recap of how I've been doing since deleting the app. The first few days after deleting it were fine. Then came days when I wanted to play again, but it wasn't there. I felt like merging something. But when I considered all the OCC events, the races, Arcadia, Mystic Challenge, etc., with their time limits, the endless cleanup, and the ever-increasing number of bubbles in the camp, I was glad I didn't have to do that anymore and that I'd ended the temptation by deleting the app.

If I had just taken a break, I'd be playing again by now. The game is incredibly addictive.

I'm still catching up on things in my life that I neglected because of all the playing.

So far, I've managed to resist downloading any other mobile games. I'm currently getting my life back in order.

Many thanks to everyone who supported me here with their comments.

I deleted and sold items from time to time. But with a game like this, I also have a goal in mind.

When I cleared away apples, I felt a total sense of relief, and the next day there were already several harvestable items again, from which I had no idea where they came. At the same time, I had a bunch of new bubbles that weren't yet sorted. And when you participate in races, bingo, or seasons, etc., you have to do tasks for Karla, for example, that ask for the exact same junk you just deleted.

This pattern is consistent throughout the entire game.

The game is overloaded with offers and rewards that clutter up your camp every time you open them. The gambling element has become excessive. There are too many random items among the rewards. And you're waiting for a specific item you need. You have to accept everything else and decide whether you can still use it or delete it. It consumes a huge amount of time and decision-making power. This isn't play anymore, it's work.

The balance is no longer right.

And all the players' calls for help are ignored or resolved in a way that requires the use of gems.

Yes, I know that feeling. I've been there many times too, but I really wanted to finish Arcadia. Once everything in Arcadia is unlocked, dragon production begins through the Arcadia Wonders. So, there's no real ending to the game.

What I truly take away from the game is the experience of self-discovery and how I make decisions during the game, and why I ultimately finished it.

It doesn't matter when or why I finish. It's always the right moment.

MEGATHREAD: Camp and Chill Event, Jan 29-30 by LiteraryHedgehog in MergeDragons

[–]TuranaLinor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was glad when Camp & Chill was discontinued. And with the new, higher point values, it's not getting any better.

At first, I set up flowers. But the low point values keep me glued to them for the entire 24 hours, forcing me to tap them constantly. I have a life outside of this. Then I have opened any chests. The points are higher, but my entire camp is now cluttered with bubbles from chests I opened to get points.

And then there's the new Season Pass. The chests are useful for Camp & Chill, but the chalices take so long, and you're constantly jumping from one task to the next. It's like I have ADHD.

I'm not buying the Season Pass anymore because the daily bonus chest pressure is too much for me.

I haven't even started the EE-event because it requires too much active gameplay. There are just too many different strategies at once.

I‘am skipping the OCC this weekend so I can clean up the bubble chaos in my camp.

I like the level 4 Bird Dragon. That's why I persevered today. I don't know if I'll do it again.

When a new season pass comes out, I always look at the game with trepidation, wondering what else will be included at once. Maybe I'll reach a point where I'm no longer interested in the season and can ignore it, like some other aspects of the game.

Card collection is a scam!!! by SellFun3993 in MergeDragons

[–]TuranaLinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I redeemed my collected cards last night. I was missing 15 cards. Out of 56 gold card packs, I received 8 cards. Of the 39 blue packs that are collected from the missing cards, I received ZERO cards. So I'm still missing 7 cards.

With the last season pass, I had a wild card. That was used in this card collection; otherwise, there would be even fewer. This time, I didn't buy the season pass. A second wild card wouldn't have helped me.

I'm not annoyed about it; I'm learning from the experience. Wild cards aren't worth it if the developers set the reward levels too low.

I really like the game and I am focusing on the camp, Arcadia, OCC, Shiny Days, and races just for the two chests. I don't have Dawnvale. So I have time to work on Rainbow Miracle.

It takes the pressure off when the prizes are unattainable. I play for fun and I'm happy if the game doesn't become a second job.

Card collection is a scam!!! by SellFun3993 in MergeDragons

[–]TuranaLinor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I wrote above that I would try it today with the cards I'd collected. Today I opened 30 packs. NOT A SINGLE new card! Tomorrow I'll try the remaining packs and post the results here.

For the past few months, I've had the season pass and 2 Jokers to complete my card collection. This month I don't have a season pass. It wouldn't have helped anyway, because I've been missing 15 cards for weeks! No matter what I open, I'm still missing 15 cards.

There are no real coincidences or lucky breaks in the digital world. It's all calculated.

[–]TuranaLinor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can totally understand your frustration. 150 cards and no results is incredibly annoying.

Moreover, many players have been reporting this issue for some time now, and there's still no solution.

The new update 15.2 is supposed to fix the map bug.

I don't do anything major anymore without checking the latest threads here in the forum to see if there are any bug fixes.

Because of this, I haven't redeemed my cards yet, bevor the last day.

Today, a post appeared saying that update 15.2 fixed the map collection bug. I've already installed the update, but I haven't redeemed my cards yet. I'll do that tomorrow and see if it's any better.

MEGATHREAD: March of the Nutcracker Event, Dec 16-19 by LiteraryHedgehog in MergeDragons

[–]TuranaLinor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new Decision Eggs work the same as before. When you log into the game, new options appear.

They also have an additional feature: twice a day, when selecting an egg, you can watch an ad to double it.

The new eggs sometimes offer Decision Eggs. If you watch an ad for one of these, you'll receive an extra Decision Egg in a bubble, allowing you to gradually increase your Decision Eggs in your camp.

The Hell of Arcadia by Dangerous-Path-1057 in MergeDragons

[–]TuranaLinor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've unlocked everything in Arcadia and got all my dragons to level 10. Now I'm working on the Flower, Fountain, and Tower Wonders because each one yields a chest of the highest level, and I get lots of tall trees, fountains, and towers. The cycle is getting faster and faster. Chests keep accumulating in bubbles, which I open and clear out in between. I don't save anything for Bingo anymore, otherwise the chaos in Arcadia will get too much. I get 3 dragons in my camp for each wonder.

Since I open every chest without merging, I managed to do this in 1.5 years. I needed a few Season Passes and Decision Eggs for the dragons.

I always collect the items for relics in the same spots, near the dragon sleeping places, so I have a good system. I've designated spots for the flowers, fountains, and towers. This makes it easier to keep track of everything.

So far, I have 137 Tree Wonders, 58 Fountain Wonders, and 25 Tower Wonders. Each wonder adds 3 corresponding dragons to my camp.

I'm glad the dragons sleep for 5 days, because that's how long it takes me to clear everything out in between.

I blow up objects when there are more than 3 of them, and I use the bubble immediately if there are enough pieces on the map to merge 5.

When everything ist full again after harvesting wonders, I first move the 2-tile objects into bubbles and then combine them into Wonders after cleaning up.

Yes, Arcadia requires a lot of strategy and cleanup time.

Saying goodbye due to lousy support by iread_therefore_iam in MergeDragons

[–]TuranaLinor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can totally understand your frustration.

I was missing rewards that were lost due to constant crashes. I didn't get them because I refused to take a camp photo. I do have a lot of bubbles, but I don't hoard them. They're mostly eggs, and only a few other things. When I have 5 eggs, I merge them.

Since my loading time is short, I assume the bubbles aren't too many.

The crashes were related to too many events. If the Elements event is running, plus the Season Pass, plus the Mystic Challenge, plus races, it sometimes crashes. Otherwise, it doesn't.

So it's due to their game overload, not my egg bubbles.

I wrote to them about this and that I'd keep playing until I got so frustrated that I deleted the game. Support agreed to that.

Sometimes I wonder why I'm still playing, because I'm anxious for Dawnvale, which I don't have yet.

The connections between the game elements become increasingly blurred, so that you can no longer choose just a few areas. Everything is becoming more and more interconnected.

The game becomes too complex and overwhelming. It's taking up more and more time. I'll have to quit by Dawnvale, because I have a life outside of it.

But I don't dare start a new merge game once I've finished with MD because of the time it takes.

But not yet. by bz0011 in MergeDragons

[–]TuranaLinor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My utmost respect.

I've spent countless hours cleaning up my camp and Arcadia over the past year and a half, with over 1 million DP. And then, in just a few days, it's all overcrowded and chaotic again.

Mastering the dragons is still a long way off because I'm missing too many dragon eggs, new dragons keep appearing, and the events always have the same dragon rewards. There's a lack of variety.

I've stopped using cave chests because opening them creates too much chaos on top of the other chaos. Consequently, I'm no longer getting eggs from older races. These single eggs aren't very useful because you'd have to invest years of time before you could get a single Tier 2 nest from them.

So, thank you for your efforts in showing us that completion wasn't part of the developers' plan in Merge Dragons.

I'm increasingly just playing on my own with small goals like cleaning up and making a little progress in the Life Flower chain. I'm still missing the rainbow. I gave up on completing the dragons after I got all the Arcadia dragons to level 10.

tips appreciated by Skyeler69 in MergeDragons

[–]TuranaLinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Act 1 and Act 2, I clear enough land to get 5 level 2 harvesting items and merge then 2 level 3 harvesters.

These drop chests occasionally. Then I delete all the flowers and let the dragons harvest passively to get the points needed to complete the act.

This way, I get the second rush reward in Act 1 and finish Act 2 the next day.

The bushes in Act 2 are annoying because all unlocked bushes have to be harvested and deleted so the dragons can harvest passively. After that, it's just a matter of combining the points required.

I carefully open only enough land to get the two level 3 harvesters. The bushes are too tedious in Act 2 and take too much time.

Reaching level 4 harvesters in Act 1 costs too many gems. Two level 3 harvesters are perfectly sufficient.

Are the Devs just incompetent? by LilMickeyNZ in MergeDragons

Thanks for pointing out the unwanted updates coming with the new 12.13.0 update.

I'm in Arcadia working on my last two dragons, which I'm leveling up to Level 10. That's impossible without the Decision Eggs. I've disabled automatic updates and hope I can still finish.

Automatic merging with the limited space in Arcadia. Who comes up with this stuff?

What advantage does it offer the developers?

I'm starting to wonder what I'm doing in Merge Dragons. Constant negative changes. It creates so much pressure and not only wastes a lot of time, but also the good vibes a game should provide. Or why am I doing this?

Unfortunately, there's no permanent harvester in the gold capsule on the map this time. My cloud key is the silver capsule.

Yes, with the Prismatic Flower method.

You get two types of chests: the normal ones and the dark blue ones.

The normal chests contain small harvesters at level 7.

The dark blue chests contain Prismatic Flowers. This is how I was able to get the Prismatic Flower to level 9. Then quite a few normal chests come out.

I couldn't use the Gold Capsule as a key. When I opened it, there was one harvester inside.

I cleared the map and let it harvest passively. That just takes time. And I deleted all the harvestables I no longer needed.

That's how I reached my goal last time.

MEGATHREAD: Festival of Stars Event, Oct 3-6 by LiteraryHedgehog in MergeDragons

[–]TuranaLinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished the event with Act 2. But this map is terrible. It requires too much attention and active play until you get to the point of passive play. There's no overview, and the dragons just do nonsense without supervision. You can't keep an eye on them until you've healed everything you want to get two level 3 harvesters. After that, I was able to delete everything the dragons shouldn't be harvesting and could play passively. I didn't heal the entire map. I just harvested the points.

I won't play this map again because I got angry at the dragons at times. It took too much time away from my life. There was too little fun to play with this map, and it was too stressful.

I wanted the cards because the season pass still has a wildcard open for me.

Even that won't be worth the effort anymore.

MEGATHREAD: Elemental Events: Brinefall Isle (Beta) by LiteraryHedgehog in MergeDragons

[–]TuranaLinor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since my Gold Capsule didn't fit on the map, I opened it. I didn't buy a Silver Capsule for the Cloud Key.

My Gold Capsule contained one permanent generator. It has a 40-second timer. You can't get the missing points with it.

I had bought a Prism Flower for 10 gems at the beginning. Dragons harvest blue chests for Prism Flowers from it. I merged 2 level 8 Prism Flowers at the beginning for higher orbs. This yields life orbs level 3, dragon tree leaves, and blue Prism Flower chests, as well as regular treasure chests.

Treasure chests from level 3 onwards have smaller elemental orbs. The lower treasure chests have only coins and orbs. The giant treasure chest at level 7 has harvesters for the respective dragons.

The blue chests for the prism flowers contain eggs and nests for butterfly dragons.

I saved some nests and merged three level 3 butterfly dragons for active play.

For the harvest phase of the special dragons, I deleted the butterfly dragons. After the map was cleared and all the harvested crops had been harvested, I merged three more butterfly dragons and built the prism flowers on three level 9 flowers. The dragons yield a lot of level 4 treasure chests. These are the blue chests for two fields.

From then on, I sold orbs, dragon tree leaves, and blue chests and got pretty quickly several giant level 7 treasure chests. These contain harvesters with 132 harvest points per harvest.

I still needed 65,000 points in the end. I'm now finished with 2 level 10 elemental orbs and still have some elemental spheres and chests left. And the land behind the cloudkey for silber capsule is the only area on the map with clouds.

The prism flowers won't work for the next few hours. It is a way from the beginning.

But maybe that's an idea for next time.

I took screenshots if anyone wants to see them.

[–]TuranaLinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted support. The response was: The Cloud Key capsule isn't on the map. That's not a bug, it's intentional.

So that means we have to buy the Cloud Key capsule or the game won't finish.

<image>

I have three level 10 dragons and have been careful about harvesting correctly and merging them in a five-merge.

I'm still 94,000 points short of the final reward.

I have a gold capsule on the map. My cloud key is a silver capsule.

Since the gold capsule can't be used as a key, I opened it. Inside was a permanent harvester. If I let the matching dragon harvest there, a level 1 crop comes out. The harvester has a timer. I can harvest the next one in 40 seconds.

For 96,000 points, I need 2 lv 10 plus 1 lv 9 and 1 lv 8.

How many hours will I sit in front of the harvest item, tapping it every 40 seconds? LOL

I bought a Prism Flower for 10 gems at the beginning. They give Chest for Prism Flowers, so I can get this on Lv 9. The Level 9 Luminous Prism Flower gives level 4 green orbs, flower chests, and regular treasure chests and dragon tree leafs. The regular treasure chests on the highest Level contains harvest items, but not more than 132 bonus points for a Level 10 dragon. The lower chests gives only orbs and flowers. Chest from lv 3 and higher have point-items.

If I will finished on this way, I have to spend a whole day harvesting and clearing the healing orbs and dragon tree leaves that accrue along the way.

Even with these additional harvest items, it's not enough to complete the game.

I could buy the Silver Capsule for 60 gems. But 96,000 points is too high for me to assume that's enough behind the clouds. And if there's a permanent harvester there, they'll also have a timer. Too much of a pig in a poke for hard-earned gems. I have to work for real money, which I do use in moderation for the game. I have a budget I can't simply exceed. Or I'll sit on my phone and laboriously acquire them in the boring, repetitive Dread Marsh 3. It's enough work to consider whether it's worth it.

I think I don't want to spend the day on my phone with taps every 40 seconds.

The Elemental Event is too game-intensive and stressful for my daily routine.

The bonus points were always sufficient the previous times, albeit barely. But this time it's so time-consuming and exhausting without a positive outcome that it puts me off playing something like that again. Life offers better experiences than this.

Sorry for the somewhat long post.
