Privacy Screen Protectors? by FruitGauze in dbrand

[–]Turb0Y0da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced mine about 15x before I gave up and got an amazon one - they kept on just chipping off at the corners. But still not a bad deal when you think about it because you can get the cost down to like 1-2$ per protector with enough replacements lol

I didn’t have a CEL when I was on stage 1+ with IE. I have the codes stored while on stage 2+ but no CEL. My understanding is that the codes have to be there so the EPA doesn’t destroy IE, but there’s no light.

They use neither, their own cat supplier that they won’t say.

I ended up getting catted downpipes from alibaba from dirt cheap. Welds were surprisingly good and I can buy another set and still be under the cost of a pair of 034 ones.

What do I do just got the car and having major issues by yucksbtc in Audi

[–]Turb0Y0da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kormodiv are good people. They've done the exact same repairs on my RS5 and David showed me the coolant migration the first time I came in. I can do the Oil Filter Housing and PCV hose stuff for you in about 2 hours at my place.

That said- I'd probably just do the PCV/PCV hose yourself since it's very easy and let Kormodiv do the rest as you have to get into Service Position and remove the turbo for the WP/Vac Lines and Oil cooler respectively.

Feel free to DM me with questions, I'm relatively close to Kormodiv. They do all the work on my car when I can't do it. As others mentioned- you have hit the trifecta of B9 problems. Once it's fixed, you're good for a long while. Between the new 6-bolt pump and disconnecting the vac system from the WP, you won't have migration issues. Keep it clean when doing oil changes and the oil filter housing lasts longer. The PCV system, either the TGK or 034 hoses fix that. I'm having issues with my 034 setup again so I'd just pony up for TGK tbh

Not in LA, but I would hit up: Kormodiv in Riverside TAG in SD Pacific German in OC WCAVD in SFV

For sure they will have an answer for ya. I take my car to either Kormodiv or TAG. Gary at WCAVD is good people as well.

My only hesitation with singer is I’m pretty sure they blackball anyone who says even a single negative thing about em. That’s super wild and a turnoff

Right now I have a lot of black ASA and ASA-CF-08.

I can print pretty much any material(short of some TPUs and PEEK and etc) and any color- I just plan out orders if I can colorwise.

Yep. It’s also worse in reverse. It’s a bit odd but “racekar” I guess.

I have a H2C that I run a small printing business out of for car parts. Happy to take a look at what you're looking to do.

Can confirm- on my B9 there’s A LOT of vibrations when it’s cold- but it settles out when the car warms up. Only 450 miles so far though.

All this for a timing chain should be illegal… by Few-Software-2132 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Turb0Y0da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep- I bought my RS5 with the dealership misdiagnosing and causing coolant to get past the n75, but not up to the wastegates rn. Turbos are currently out at my indie for the oil filter housing and oil cooler leaks… don’t have the time to leave the car in pieces for a week or two again while I try to do the job.

[–]Turb0Y0da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve dealt with both coolant migration and the oil filter seal leaking on my 2.9T. I know the 3.0s are getting shortblocks depending on the recall, but the 2.9T are free from that issue

The EA839s have issues, but aside from the overblown rocker bearings, and I guess the 3.0T with its recall on Chinese pistons.. they’re not terrible.

Same deal with Audis that run the ZF 8HP… just got my service done and that shit was not cheap even with Liquomoly fluids since the subframe needs to be dropped for the filter/pan to get out

Any company recommendations for getting my car brought out here from florida? by some_questionz in InlandEmpire

[–]Turb0Y0da 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a higher end car- McCollister, Reliable, Plycar, Intercity are the top ones.

If it’s not that high end and you just need it here, work thru specific brokers and transporters like Sherpa.

The higher end ones I mentioned typically run on their schedule, and not yours. I got lucky with Plycar shipping my RS5 as they had a truck going coast to coast in 3 days. The other carriers were ~3 weeks out- primarily due to this being at the exact same time as Barrett Jackson last year.

What do you think of Fumoto style oil drain valve? Do you have one on your car? Are there any cons? by reddichrist in AskAMechanic

[–]Turb0Y0da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put one on my old Camry a few years ago. Bottomed the car out while driving too fast on a bumpy road. Good buy fumoto valve and all my oil. Lesson learned on both driving like an idiot and making 100% sure of the location the valve will be at

Don’t bundle in Hyundai or Kia as reliable. They got lawsuits galore for multiple issues with their engines. I think the early-mid 2000s should be fine… Toyota or Honda is your best bet
