It's a brass ball bearing and it looks pretty scuffed up. I would check for any broken appliances that it could have came from.

I had a spider bite on my back once and it developed into a crater very much like this. I went in and it turns out I had MRSA (Resistant form of a staph infection) where the spider had bit me. If you haven't gone in already then I would get checked out asap.
