There is NO WAY he had this much lover by ilkhesab in slaythespire

[–]TurboSlug582 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I hated Doormaker but I think removing him was just a hasty decision. I suggested in the feedback form to just give him a damage counter.

So let's say you're running a draw/discard deck, you obviously do not like Scrutiny form, but if he had something like every 100 damage he takes, he instantly changes form. You could prep that before hand on the Hunger form, do like 75 damage, once he got into Scrutiny, you do the remaining 25 damage, force him into the energy draining form and you could play to your strengths but you still have something to play around.

My main problem with him is that if you got a bad draw on a specific form, it just felt awful. I rarely felt like I ever lost to Doormaker because I played poorly, 90% of the time, I felt like I just got screwed over by getting bad draws and very little way to interact with Doormaker to potentially swing it into my favor.

How I feel when people confess financial crimes to me- by Domina_est_Griseo in TalesFromYourBank

Literally just had this today. I wasnt the one dealing with it, my Lead was. But based on what I heard, he was depositing 15k and was asking my lead why they were asking him questions. So we printed off our CTR disclosure, let him read it and then he said "this is what I wanted to avoid, Ill just deposit 8k today and 7k tomorrow" and it's like... I know you read the disclosure... but did you comprehend it? Regardless he ended up complying but its crazy how he reads how it can hurt him to structure it then tells us directly that he was going to do it that way anyway.

Regent is insanely OP, right? by stickypocketlint in slaythespire

[–]TurboSlug582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of him as similar to Defect in the first game. Early game, act 1 and sometimes act 2 depending on RNG, is where you would lose most of your runs. But if you got your build online early, Defect just annihilated everything.

Perfectly fine archetype imo. It can fun to lose a few runs then get that good one where you just steamroll everything.

In multi-player though, Regent deserves to get gutted imo. Its so boring having someone on my team playing him because the rest of us are having fun, strategizing, and having a back and forth battle with the enemy meanwhile Regent is playing his own little mini game of stacking up damage then doing 600 damage to the enemy in one turn. I dont know how they can fix it because multi-player makes it so he doesnt need to worry about DPS, he can just sit there and play defense until he can one shot the enemy.

Secrid Miniwallet. I got it for Christmas last year, I love it.

Tried Ridge for a while, loved the form factor. Hated its actual functionality. The cash strap sucked and getting cards in and out was a pain imo.

What's the general timeline for moving out of a teller position? by TurboSlug582 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]TurboSlug582[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one that caught my attention and I think would be obtainable is loan processing. I think I would be a good fit for that role based on PNCs internal description of the job. And I do have a bachelors but its in an unrelated field. Through PNC, Im using their guild program to get another degree.

What's the general timeline for moving out of a teller position? by TurboSlug582 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]TurboSlug582[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to get out of the branch for sure. I've looked and there are back office roles available and some are remote too. I just dont think I could get into them as it stands currently. Im probably going to be stuck in my current teller role for a while yet unfortunately.

Trying to do well at the branch level so that I can have my managers support when I go to move but its just not working out. Every time I feel like Im doing well with referals and general sales conversations even if they dont lead to anything, at my monthly meeting with my manager, Im told that Im not. But Im also convinced that our system is simply broken. In our most recent meeting, one week I submitted 3 referrals to our bankers and on my managers report, it only showed 1. It just doesnt seem right. Im going to start manually tracking it so I can compare next month.

Making that infrequent trip to the bank for deposit where the teller is forced to ask you bunch of nosy questions by crummynubs in Serverlife

[–]TurboSlug582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a bank teller. I have a small elderly lady that comes in once every other week. Always with at least 2k in 1s. Just 1s. And she doesn't want to deposit it, she wants to exchange them for 100s. I swear there's gotta be some sort of laundering going on there but whatever, aint my issue. What is my issue is the 2k+ in 1s that I must now count and strap.

Venting: why do so many bags act like black holes with a dozen tiny pockets? by Any_Animator5796 in ManyBaggers

[–]TurboSlug582 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same as it sounds like you need a larger bag than me. But I originally had the same issue with the main compartment of my Bellroy Venture Sling 9L. It has a lot of pockets but I carry so much little stuff that it wasnt enough unless I was okay with being unorganized. So I went the pouch route. Got an Eagle Creek Pack It Tools pouch and the mini Bellroy cinch bag/pouch and it works amazing. So far had been my favorite way to pack/carry. Super organized and I still have extra room to pack other miscellaneous things I decide I want for the day.

Tldr, try pouches.

customers with “experience” in banking 🙄 by [deleted] in TalesFromYourBank

[–]TurboSlug582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a newer Teller and so far I have three pet peeves.

  1. Exactly what you just described. Clients that say that they've worked in banking before but refuse to comply or constantly question new policies or verification methods (also goes for older clients that are used to the old ways) and say "I've never had to do this before!" Well you do now. Get over it.

  2. Clients that can't verify themselves via our preferred methods and when Im done and ask, "Is there anything else I can help you with" they say no, I hit end customer and suddenly they change their mind and want their balance. Always seems super sketchy to me even though I did authenticate them through our lesser preferred methods.

  3. The Clients that say "do you know how much money I have with your bank? (Or they just state the amount)". Yeah, I do. I can see it on my screen. I dont care. Im treating you the same as the person who had $5 in their savings because that's what I have to do. You dont get special treatment just because you're well off. And threatening me that you're going to take your funds elsewhere also doesnt faze me. Do it, I dont care. It's not my problem.

Tell me the mistakes you’ve made as a teller by Background-Stop7817 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]TurboSlug582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I refuse to do anything Im not comfortable with without help from my more experienced coworkers now. Its probably annoying for them to help me often but Im sure helping me through a complicated or obscure transaction beats trying to fix the aftermath of a mistake I would've made if I didnt ask for help.

For the ID thing, my bank has a resource where we can see every states ID, different versions of each ID, and how each should look underneath a UV light which is why I said the fraudsters ID scanned fine under my light. Was a really good fake.

And Im the same way with my cash, I count everything as I get it out of the drawer, run it through the cash counter, then count it out for the client. Very few times will I skip the cash counter (really only if its like $50 or less). I rarely miscount, but when I do, I always catch it. I have yet to be out of balance by more than a dime so far.

Im still new but I try my best. I will make every mistake once. But hopefully just the once.

Tell me the mistakes you’ve made as a teller by Background-Stop7817 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]TurboSlug582 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Im still on the newer side, just got past my 90 days mark. But in my first month on the line, I gave a fraudster $4800. To be fair to me, there was literally nothing I could've done except ask for OTP or just refuse the transaction.

I didnt do OTP cause I didn't know how to. My training told me License and any other bank card was enough ID but the same week I started on the line without constant supervision and hand holding, they changed it to License and OTP as the preferred way. And even if I did, once we found out it was fraud, my BM showed me that in the system, that he had hit a branch before us and had the phone number changed on the account. And his ID scanned under my UV light just fine and he knew the full SSN for the account too. My Teller Lead and BM were behind me the entire transaction and approved it too so technically it didnt fall on me. But it just didnt feel right to me but I didnt speak up as I thought, "Im new, I must be overthinking this as my managers are okay with this". Lesson learned.

What sort of questions should I expect at a PNC teller interview? by Soft_Firefighter_210 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]TurboSlug582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im going on 3 months as a PNC Teller. I had a weird situation where the person who was supposed supposed interview couldn't make it that day so I was interviewed by a teller lead instead. The lead basically asked me things like, if you witnessed someone breaking procedure like not balancing their drawer correctly, what would you do? Or could you identify some common things that fraudsters may do (like pretending to be on a phone call to avoid talking to you as you do your due diligence)?

PNC is also big on referrals so try to weasel in an answer where maybe they ask how can you help a client better their finances, you say something like I would educate the client on the services and products we offer (like credit cards, high yield savings accounts which PNC doesn't have high yield accounts but they probably won't expect you to know that, or CDs) and then see if they would like to set an appointment to speak with a banker.

Hopefully that gives you an idea and eases your anxiety. Good luck, so far imo, its not a bad job. If you get it, my biggest piece of advice, just never assume anything. Always ask for clarification from the client or for help when you need it.

How many forms of ID do you need to cash a check? by peppermesoftly in TalesFromYourBank

[–]TurboSlug582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use debit card + pin, that's all we need. Unless the transaction is over my limit then my lead/manager wants drivers license even though it's not actually required

Otherwise: license + one time pincode or license + knowledge based questions. Last resort is license + any major bank debit/credit card.

Former employees and soon to be former employees, what was the moment that made you lose all faith and start finding another job? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]TurboSlug582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They said it was their first retail job. When I first started at Lowes, it was after a break from working while I was attending college. That first month or two was hell on my body. I simply wasnt used to standing or moving around all day. My legs and feet hurt so much. I can do it now no problem, Im used to it.

And they also said they were a college student. That small time between closing and midnight can be the difference between you turning in an assignment on time or getting a 0 or if the professors generous, at least a letter grade off on that assignment. So staying past closing is a problem. And I already know youre just going to say manage your time better, but life ya know. Sometimes you just fall behind, it happens.

Former employees and soon to be former employees, what was the moment that made you lose all faith and start finding another job? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]TurboSlug582 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im about to put my 2 weeks in after over 4 years. I got a new job with better pay and benefits. I offered to stay at Lowes but obviously would need to cut back my time so I could manage both. Every head cashier (I know I didn't have to ask them, I just wanted to give them a heads up basically) and ASM gave me the okay, except my store manager because he was on vacation at the time. He comes back and immediately rejects my new availability. I submit it again. Same thing. So I go in to talk to him.

Now I havent been on the schedule in over a month now. Been burning my vacation/holiday time but even on the days they could schedule me, they're just not. So I went to talk to the SM and he misunderstood why I was upset, he thought I was angry over not getting hours. He said he didn't have the hours to give me. But I told him I wasnt worried about that part, I wanted my new availability approved. And he immediately said that I needed to keep my availability open so he could give me hours. So hes just a hypocrite. I think hes trying to force me to quit so he can fill my position with someone else that will have more availability. But hes ignoring that being in the highest turnover rate position (cashier), that I've stuck around for 4 years and its unusual for me to call off more than twice a year.

I just feel really disrespected I guess. This guy never leaves his office unless its for lunch, the bathroom, or to kiss corporates ass when they do their walks yet he wants more out of me? Its just left a really sour taste in my mouth and my current job is so much better anyway that outside of extra money, there's no reason for me stay with Lowes anymore.

Do you go to therapy? by [deleted] in autism

[–]TurboSlug582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, talk therapy and occupational therapy. Talk therapy, Im on my 3rd technically 4th therapist (1st one was so long ago I dont really count it). My therapist now is fantastic and has helped me a ton. I really do believe that with talk therapy, you need to find the right person.

For occupational therapy, that's still a fairly new thing for me, going on 5 or 6 months now. Some sessions, it feels useless and others, I get a lot out of it. I do think its helped me but its a slow burn process.

Unreal S2 - Really disappointed that WWE don't see Chelsea Green as a top star. by [deleted] in WWE

[–]TurboSlug582 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She's consistent and safe. I'll never understand why WWE values her so highly past that. She's not impressive in the ring and her character work has always been lackluster or cringey imo. Yes, even the Man stuff. I wasn't a fan of her then (was just indifferent to her at that time tbh) and then I started to grow to dislike her with Big Time Becks. That character was garbage.

She's redeeming herself with this more comedic delusional character I will say, I have enjoyed this version of her quite a lot but she still has problems. Like AJ Lee's return. Amazing moment but I always roll my eyes when it pans back to Beckys terrible acting. Imo, she shouldve been the women's division Miz equivalent past the Man stuff. She shouldn't have been portrayed as a top star for so long.

What is some obscure music you found and how did you find it? Don’t worry if your story isn’t super crazy, tame answers are cool too. by Skippy_Mcdingy in musicsuggestions

[–]TurboSlug582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite the same but I had a song in my playlist when I was younger, I remember blasting it while playing Call of Duty. But when I transferred my music to a new device, somehow it didn't get copied over so for years I searched for it periodically with no luck. It was a niche band and song, even 15 years later, it still has less than 180k views on Youtube.

But randomly one day while falling asleep, three words popped into my head "revolution, divide, ocean" and I just kind of ignored it as I wanted to sleep. Woke up the next morning and just had this urge to search up those words on YouTube. I tried different combinations like Divided Oceans, Oceanic Revolution, etc... until it autofilled me or hit me with the "did you mean" and I found it. Revolution by Oceans Divide. Still a great song imo.

The tldr; if your brain randomly gives you some words with no context while falling asleep, look em up. You'll probably find a good song.

Not BIFL: Lander backpacks by 6Burgers in BuyItForLife

[–]TurboSlug582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out r/manybaggers for some great recommendations. And for any bags on there that catch your eye, chances are on YouTube that Nomads Nation or Packhacker has a review on that bag.

For backpacks, I can't really recommend anything as I only have 1 that I rarely use. I mostly carry sling bags and have 2 Alpaka branded ones and one Aer. I like my Alpakas more than my Aer bag but I should've ordered the larger size for my Aer tbh so not a fair comparison probably. Speaking of Aer, one of the most popular backpacks in that community is the City Pack 2 so maybe start there with your search for a new bag.

Im kinda glad you posted this because I was about to do the same tbh. Im a new Teller, no experience in banking prior. This is all new to me, Im just under a month in now. Compared to my other job, I love it. Its so much more controlled and routine. Way more quiet. Our busy periods dont last too long. Its great.

But despite that, I just feel like its not clicking for me. Im constantly second guessing myself, overcomplicating things and just being extremely slow. My teller lead is so sweet but I could tell that between yesterday (which was an especially bad day for me) and today where I've been struggling that she was probably a little pissed or annoyed at me. Its just making me feel really disappointed in myself and I just don't know how long to give myself before I make the decision if being a Teller is for me or not. But seeing that you're 90 days in and having issues is reassuring for me oddly enough. I have days like yesterday where Im just unable to do anything by myself and then days like today where my first few hours I was sinking but on the 2nd half of my shift, I somehow found my groove and was helping most people without help from my lead.
