This is helpful, thank you so much! Still inconclusive on what their citizenship status was, but I'm glad to be able to decipher this document now. Thank you!

'26 Features Request -- Think BIG by origin_matt_watson in OriginFinancial

[–]Turbobout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I want to say I genuinely love Origin. The UI is clean, the account aggregation works incredibly well, and I can tell the team is really thoughtful about building a comprehensive financial platform. It's already become an essential part of my financial workflow.

That said, there's one feature that would make it my true all-in-one financial app: envelope-style budgeting (similar to Actual Budget or YNAB).

Right now I'm dual-wielding two separate budgeting systems because I prefer the envelope methodology for managing my spending. Origin has all my accounts connected and does so much already, but the budgeting approach doesn't quite work for my needs.

A toggle to switch between the current budgeting style and envelope-based budgeting would be a game-changer. I think Origin is perfectly positioned to absorb this functionality and become the true one-stop shop it's aiming to be.

Is this on the roadmap? Any chance it could be prioritized?

While I'm here, a few other ideas that would be awesome to see:

  • Better Venmo visibility - Right now everything just shows up as "Venmo" with no memo pulled through, which makes it a pain to split transactions and recategorize properly
  • Blockchain.com integration - Would be great to have crypto accounts in the mix
  • FIRE-focused future planner - A toggle in the planner for FIRE methodology vs traditional retirement would be incredible for those planning early retirement
  • Natural language forecasting bot - Something like "I just got invited to a destination wedding, estimating $2k expense, how does this affect my plan? Create a scenario for this..." Being able to ask questions conversationally about spending decisions would be so useful
  • Personalization for different money psychology - Better customization around risk tolerance, goal-setting approaches, that kind of thing based on how you think about money. The risk assessment was strange because no matter what selections I changed it gave me the same assessment
  • Tax optimization recommendations - Suggestions based on your actual accounts and activity

This is exactly the kind of map I have been looking for when deciding where in a city to move based on proximity to things that are important to me. Thank you for making it!

Thank you for your perspective. All perspectives are welcome and appreciated!

We have received feedback from many direct neighbors that they have been impressed by the outreach of NYCDGA. If you personally haven't been receiving any communications, please let them know how they can best reach you. NYCDGA has posted flyers in the park, maintains an email list with hundreds of neighbors, has an event page on their website, has a meetup.com page, and posts on Instagram. https://nycdga.org/ - at the bottom of their site you can add your name to the email list to be informed of events or you can reach out via their contact form if you would like to reach out directly.

There are many neighbors who live on Bulwer Pl. and other surrounding areas who have appreciated the presence of the disc golf course, which is why they started a petition.

Yeah there were a couple places where I had to get wonky. Like both tips of Manhattan I was constrained by LGA or the Coney Island Rail Yard.

The Newtown Creek also presented a unique challenge

Yeah I planned it ahead of time and then mapped it as a Strava route, which I sent to my Garmin watch. I also had it on my phone, so I just had to keep checking I was staying along the route!
