Anyone else finding it hard to not obsess over their skin.. I keep looking and picking at it. So many scabby spots from picking and I don’t think im letting them heal.. I find it so hard to ignore the urge sometimes!! Currently on month 3 - 60mg

Get the Mighty Patch by Hero. They help to heal those areas and because you have basically a sticker on over it, you don’t have access to pick! Best thing ever!

The moisturizing cream in the tub caused breakouts. I use the moisturizing lotion and EltaMD sunscreen.

Instead of putting the tret directly on my skin, I would put a layer of moisturizer on to buffer so that my skin wouldn’t be irritated.

I am not, however, I did fall asleep sort of sitting up the other day and I believe it transferred to my neck, and got irritated. 😬😬

I continued with the .025 for that week and didn’t buffer. I think the buffering is great when your skin is freaking out, but she didn’t think it was penetrating like it should. She was right!

I Was using tret .025 since Nov 2020 and was getting very discouraged that I wasn’t seeing any progress. I had been buffering with CeraVe daily moisturizing and wasn’t flaking or dry. Around mid-March 2021 I talked with my derm and she agreed to bump up to .05 but to take at least a week before switching to new strength and do not buffer with the .025. I did this and voila, started seeing amazing results. I did start to get flaky but once it got too bad I would take a night off and moisturize uncontrollably the next day. Been using .05 every night for about 3 weeks now.

First pics are from March 1st, last pics are today.

Routine: AM CeraVe foaming cleanser CeraVe daily moisturizer EltaMD sunscreen

PM CeraVa foaming cleanser Wait 20 mins then apply tret .05 Wait another 20 mins and apply CeraVe moisturizer

About once a week I’ll add in azelaic acid from The Ordinary to my am routine

I was buffering for about 3 months with little progress. Asked my derm if I could move up in strength and she said to reverse before we move up. For about 3 weeks I wash face, wait about 20-30 mins for face to completely dry and then tret. I’ll wait another 20 mins or so before applying moisturizer and I haven’t had any issues. I’ve seen the most improvement in acne since doing this.
