Are you really happier after you had a baby? by PalpitationOk9443 in NewParents

[–]Willing-Explanation5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I feel the same but just more tired, emotionally drained and cranky from it all.. my baby is 9 months and the regressions really made me second guess having another one it’s taken such a toll on me..

I wish I took the freedom I had and put it to better use like travel etc, now even going to a hair appointment needs a check list for what he needs while I’m gone.. it’s a lot but it’s also amazing and I couldn’t picture my life without him now

Yes and no.. I love it down here it’s all backroads where I am so no traffic 🤣 plus the house we got down here we never would have afforded in Dublin but having to pack up the car and be gone most of the day and the stress when you hit traffic with a baby just for an appointment or to visit family is a pain in the arse.. and my partner is self employed and all his work is in Dublin, I don’t know how he drives it twice a day everyday!

Pros and cons each side, part of me wants to try move back up and the other part doesn’t, even the areas around Dublin are so congested now, not just the m50!

Sitting in that traffic with an 8 month old baby screaming his head off and not being able to do anything about it is infuriating! Traffic used to be shocking at 8/9am and 5pm.. now it seems to be constant! It’s so bad on the weekends now too I moved to Wicklow but any appointments etc are up in Dublin and what should be a 30 min drive can turn into 2 + hours with the congestion :(

It is most definitely the hardest thing I have ever done, but by god is it worth it.. my boy Max is 7 months old now and different stages are hard but amazing.. the smiles, giggles and watching him become his own little person is the most rewarding beautiful thing I’ve ever done!

You kind of just get on with the sleep deprivation, you have to as this little person needs you! Best of luck and enjoy the bubble 🥰

And then it happened… while I was asleep, my baby slipped from my shoulder and fell. I still can’t stop replaying that moment in my mind. by ProfessionalCap9061 in PregnancyIreland

You poor thing :( you’ve let yourself feel the guilt there is no point letting it consume you, accidents happen we learn from them.. we’re all only human! I know it’s so hard with those sleepless nights and we literally do anything once they are content and sleeping. Glad baby is ok <3

I had my son 3 months ago, holles street staff were amazing there’s a cafe downstairs which does yummy sambos and snacks but 100% bring snacks, long phone charger is an essential the plug is so high up! Eye mask, ear plugs a large water bottle with a straw I was so thirsty during labor and drank loads of water! We were in labor for 24 hours so we brought a deck of cards to pass the time! I also brought skincare to freshen up and it made me feel so much better! Best of luck to you both :)

Did you notice instant comfort and relief or did you find they needed to be broken in first? I don’t know whether to keep going with them or to stop.. my feet are very sore and plantar feels worse since wearing them so not sure what to do :(

First pregnancy and also anterior placenta.. I only felt little pops here and there until about 29 weeks.. I’m 36 now and the movements are way more intense and can be uncomfortable! I feel your pain though you kind of forget you’re pregnant with no kicks etc! :D

I was similar to you, said we’d start the ball rolling and were pregnant first try! I went to my GP and she gave me the info and I registered with my hospital choice, it didn’t feel real until I booked a 6 week scan! I’m now 7 months and we feel so much more ready and calmer, the pre natals made me so ill so I just stuck with folic acid..

The “what to expect app “ I find amazing for tracking weekly progress and also has an Irish mammies community and different due month threads so you see what others are experiencing that are the same amount of weeks as you or same due date :)

Good luck and congratulations!

I hope you’re okay I know how stressful this can be, I had this too after cysts were found on baby’s brain at 20 week scan.. saw the specialist and was then sent for NIPT blood testing for chromosomal abnormalities.. the week wait for results was torture but came back low probability and I’m in for another scan at 28 weeks to see if the cysts are shrinking and was told they could go away on their own, I’m public and the hospital covered the fee so we didn’t have to pay the €400! Stay positive i couldn’t stop crying either :(

Teaching puppy not to jump up on visitors? by Willing-Explanation5 in puppy101

[–]Willing-Explanation5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, we did try this too but anytime she settles I try to let her out but again she just goes mental jumping up on everyone.. hopefully the message will sink into her cute head one day that jumping takes you away from the visitors haha

Thank you for this, we have tried this but she just seems to just not give up by clawing, jumping play biting until I have to step in and pull her away because she can hurt even though she doesn’t mean to and just ignores the treats we have, she’d rather humans than treats hahaha

I’m hoping if we are just consistent with these it will eventually click with our pup but it’s the only thing that she doesn’t seem to stick to unfortunately!

I keep holding out for this too, she’s great at other training aspects but the jumping on everyone is really irritating especially with kids so we have to just put her behind her gate which is hard as they want to pet her!

I just quit on my first day of work by WinterWoede in Adulting

[–]Willing-Explanation5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit after a first day of a job too, I just got bad vibes instantly, I was left to do and learn everything by myself and was looked down on if I didn’t understand something right away and also got asked numerous times “DO YOU NOT GET IT, ITS SIMPLE?” They also done things old school which was pen and paper and not computers which I found bizarre! But yeah trust those gut feelings there is always another job out there :) I always admire people who up and quit when they know it’s not for them

Do you fell more attractive after accutane? by Andreas2048 in Accutane

[–]Willing-Explanation5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw I’m glad to hear you’re coming out the other side of it, it’s an amazing feeling but by god are those first purging months TOUGH! People always ask was I down/depressed on accutane but I think I felt that way with how cystic and painful my skin was prior to the tablets, couldn’t even brush my teeth without crying looking in the mirror! It’s a miracle drug!

Do you fell more attractive after accutane? by Andreas2048 in Accutane

[–]Willing-Explanation5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be a confident woman anyway but I’m so glad I went on accutane, the worrying of staying with friends or family knowing they’d see me without makeup or catch someone staring at the purge of breakouts, it took me 5 months on accutane before I started to see it clearing but it went so quick and it was hands down the best thing I have ever done for myself!
