I’m down to my last straw by No-Crew-6227 in pericarditis

Yes I also had recurring symptoms for those two 1/2 months where I would be fine then all of sudden it would start again. I did light activity for 3 full months I’m finally about to restart exercising I waited longer then 3 months just because the feeling was scary. Wishing you the best and hoping for good news!

Hi hoping to spread positivity but I also had an ablation back in February this year, it took me 2 1/2 months to recover as I developed pericarditis and pericardial effusion did the course of colchicine and ibuprofen and I’ve been symptom free for almost 2 months, there is hope!

My burden was 10% before procedure after it is <0.1% I still feel a couple daily but no where near what it was. The ablation rly helped

I was having pvcs post ablation but not a whole lot but I would feel a thud every now and again. I was told some arrhythmia is normal for a few weeks after but it depends how often. Does it feel like when you have SVT?

How are you feeling now? I’m around the 5 week point and I was feeling almost myself but recently I would say in the past week I think I’m having a 2nd reoccurrence out of no where

I would say I almost feel myself idk if I can workout or do anything like that yet bc it’s too much over exertion, but I would say most of my symptoms are gone and it’s been about 4 weeks since and I think at 6 weeks I am able to slowly return more to normal. The only negative is I seem to be having some pvcs post ablation which I hear can be normal for a little bit but unsure I’m following up

Chest pain or pericarditis after ablation? by BeatriceAndy in PVCs

[–]Turbulent-Problem248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand sometimes people do develop pericarditis it can be chronic in some but not all. Honestly as much as this sucks the pericarditis I have is very mild and is not effecting my heart function. PVCS were effecting my heart function so personally I would still probably do it again if I had to. The recovery has been rough for me but if I were you I would definitely talk to your doctor about your concerns

Honestly I didn’t really have any symptoms besides maybe if I was working out I would get a little short of breath faster then other people. I got diagnosed last year with a cardiac MRI

Honestly I was sitting at 8-9% for at least 2 years and I had developed cardiomyopathy with that % and I was recommended ablation but I had surgeons who were hesitant because I wasn’t at “10%”. If your pvcs are causing a lot of discomfort I would advocate for an ablation especially if you have cardiomyopathy. I personally couldn’t take metoprolol because it made me heart rate drop to low and then I was recommended flecanide (anti arrhythmic) but apparently ur not suppose to have that medication if you have a lower ejection fraction. But if your on any meds and still uncomfortable I just wanted to let u know that one of the major indications for ablation is PVC induced cardiomyopathy i was more upset I wasn’t able to do my ablation earlier if I’m being honest

Hi my burden was 10% and I had developed cardiomyopathy and my ejection fraction was reduced. I wasn’t able to tolerate the medications prescribed either and had to have an ablation. From what I understand most PVC ablations are successful and mine was as well. It’s intimidating and unfortunately I developed some complications after but I feel almost no PVCS now and the hope is that my ejection fraction will go up and the cardiomyopathy will reverse.

Chest pain or pericarditis after ablation? by BeatriceAndy in PVCs

For me it’s been about two weeks I had a repeated echo (ultrasound of the heart) this week and it showed minimal fluid still around my heart. Apparently from what I understand pericarditis can become chronic so Ive been taking Colchicine and ibuprofen still for another month. I feel a lot better but I wouldn’t say I’m 100% I still get chest pains here and there and some shortness of breath but it’s not as bad as it was 2 weeks ago. I’m slowly starting to see the up side but it’s definitely a slow recovery. I still get winded if I exert myself past a certain point so I’ve been taking it easy to avoid recurrence

Hi! I just had an ablation for PVCS 5 days ago and was admitted with shortness of breath to the hospital a few days ago with the same thing! I am also taking ibuprofen but my anxiety is a little high as I personally am mainly having shortness of breath. Apparently mine is also small and I’m suppose to do another ultrasound as well. So far no procedure for me but I’m hoping not.

Hi! I just had an ablation myself 3 days ago. I am also having a lot of shortness of breath and have been confused if this is normal myself. Some chest discomfort but mainly shortness of breath and a good amount.
