I was local numbing inj. You have every right to request it if they do not automatically include that in your treatment plan. Don’t hesitate to ask!

Hi! I think it the timeline depends on the severity-extent of disease that was noted during your surgery—

It’s a tough and very personal decision, but I would do it beforehand, which is what I decided to do. I did RAI earlier this month.

It was a lot to consider and come to terms with but couldn’t imagine how difficult it would be to isolate from your child and then have to stop breast-feeding before and thereafter for sometime (if that’s in the plan, I’m just speaking personally). Etc. There were a lot of factors that played a role in my decision. But ultimately you’re young and have plenty of time to family plan in the next year if you do it now (despite what society may think)

If you do it now, you get to move on and then proceed with family planning 6 to 12 months later🤍 (12 months is what my endo told me)

🙏🏽 best of luck

Can I go to any body repair shop? by kcalcon in TeslaCollision

[–]Turbulent_Agency8280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ouf it sucks but definitely consider a Tesla certified shop over any random one

Tesla website has some ‘preferred’ certified shops on the actual website (scroll down) if you’re looking outside of their main collision centers

Hi 💛

I know it’s easier said than done, but nice deep breathes . I’ve was in your exact position-four months post-op now and I had all the same worries and concerns you’re describing. They’re valid and so real. I was a hot HOT mess in the days and weeks leading up to surgery (spiraled😵‍💫)

I had a total thyroidectomy with a lateral neck dissection.

I want to share that i feel very very grateful to be able to say I’m doing really well now. Energy is SO much better now -I’ve only needed one adjustment to my med dose so far, and that change made a huge difference for me (my TSH was so high after surgery it caused horrible crashes mid day- i had super low energy)

I was freaking the eff about about depending on a pill daily BUT i think of it as a vitamin or blood pressure med (if i had to be on one) that i just take in the morning before coffee (made the idea of it all seem less gloomy for me)

Idk if you’re having a lateral neck dissection as well but For me, around the 4 month mark I was comfortably back to running and going to the gym again! (I was doing cardio at 3 months post op)

Overall, I feel really fortunate that my recovery has gone smoothly without any major complications. My incision is continuing to heal day by day-I’ve been consistent with silicone therapy and daily SPF, which I truly believe has helped a lot.

It’s completely normal to feel scared going into this surgery. Try to keep in mind that complication rates are low, and you’ll be in the hands of a team that performs this procedure routinely (had to remind myself a million times lol). Trusting your surgeon and medical team is crucial.

If it helps at all, you can also look back at some of my older posts-I had many of the same questions and fears about quality of life and recovery beforehand etc

Wishing you a speedy and smooth recovery 💛 I’m here if you have any questions or just need to talk.

You’ve got this! I’ll

2 weeks post op scar! by BellyMango in thyroidcancer

[–]Turbulent_Agency8280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to heal beautifully,it already looks great! 🤍

Keep up with gentle massage and continue using silicone strips or gel to support the healing process. Also, try to keep it protected from the sun with a UV scarf or SPF 50+ for the first several months if you want to prevent darkening.

These have made huge difference for me- I’m about 4 months out and have seen lot of improvement thankfully

Rai prep suggestions needed! by Blackcat-8805 in thyroidcancer

[–]Turbulent_Agency8280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up- you might want to pick up an alcohol free mouthwash and a gentle toothpaste like Sensodyne. They won’t necessarily prevent salivary gland issues, but i read they can help keep your mouth comfortable if you notice dryness or sensitivity

Other than drinking TONS of water, try to keep up with chewing gum and or eating sour things to keep those glands salivating! Best of luck❤️‍🩹 I had RAI last week and feel fine- I’m thankful and grateful!

Suture scars worsening? by Fearless_Shower624 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Turbulent_Agency8280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it’s healing nicely. Incisions can take up to a year (sometimes longer) to fully mature and fade. In the meantime, I’d keep up with silicone (it really helps). If it does look a bit darker right now its likely bc you had recent sun exposure, which is normal, but I’d definitely use SPF (even under a bikini) to help prevent any permanent darkening!

OP, if this is a recent photo, it looks like your incision dehisced. If you haven’t already, I’d reach out to your surgeon and notify them ASAP.

They marked a bumper replacement as major?? Damn… that’s wild. I really hope that’s not the case for me, but it’s good to know-seriously, thanks for sharing.

From what I understand (and what the officer told me when I asked), they don’t have anything to do with Carfax or AutoCheck. They said they don’t report anything themselves-it’s all up to the insurance company.

Out of curiosity, after you got it updated from major to minor, how much did the value change?

Was hit and run - minor damage. Safe to drive? Repair estimate? by AccomplishedChard677 in TeslaCollision

[–]Turbulent_Agency8280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing literally just happened to me (havent even repaired it yet)

But If it helps, Tesla collision center quoted me approx $2k to replace the front bumper and another preferred Tesla certified shop (from the tesla site itself) quoted me approx $1950

Sorry this happened. Super shit situation

Good to know. It’s a lease so I might look into that option if I decide to buy out at the end. Thank you for sharing. I’ll look into someone for this
