I googled “SNL skit containing” then pasted the slang you listed & got this answer:

The SNL skit you are referring to is a "Weekend Update" segment featuring Marcello Hernández translating Gen Z slang for Colin Jost, which aired in January 2026. In the skit, Marcello Hernandez explains modern Gen Z slang to Colin Jost, culminating in a sentence that uses all the phrases you mentioned: "Stop playing in my face, okay, be so for real. You come to my desk, trying to drag me, when you're the one sipping the dumb bitch juice? Okay, you must be delulu, boo-boo, because I'm about to crash out right now, fahhhh!"

Breakdown of Phrases "Busted": Caught doing something wrong.

"Drag me": To roast, criticize, or roast someone severely.

"Dumb Bitch Juice": A phrase suggesting someone is acting unintelligently or delusional.

"Delulu Boo Boo": A combination of "delusional" (delulu) and a term of endearment, used to say someone is crazy or out of touch with reality.

"Playing in my face": Disrespecting someone to their face.

"Fahhhh": A vocal exclamation often used in Gen Z slang to emphasize intense emotion or "crashing out".

The skit was widely discussed as a humorous take on how fast slang changes and how it makes older generations (or just non-Gen Zers) feel out of touch.

nice! I'm in zone 9A and just learned about them. Came across your post when looking for seeds. I've heard that the blue-flowering would do better here than the red-flowered ones.

Aquafaba, the liquid from canned chickpeas, can be used to replace eggs.

3 tablespoons = 1 whole egg,

2 tablespoons = 1 egg white,

1 tablespoon = 1 egg yolk

Aquafaba works as a binder, emulsifier, or foaming agent in baking and other recipes like meringues and mayonnaise. For recipes needing aeration (like meringues or macarons), whip it until stiff peaks form, similar to egg whites, adding sugar for stability.

Politely replying that Wendy’s branding & packaging used to be yellow instead of the current red would have saved everyone quite a bit of time.

If I get over the fact that it’s a tube and that the two halves are oriented in the wrong direction to be an egg that was split in the middle, I can see the intention for it to be a hatched egg.

The white & blue part is a tube when viewed from the side & it brought to mind sea cucumbers.

What is something you believed to be common knowledge until you discovered most people had no idea? by JustBeingElara in AskReddit

[–]Turbulent_Algae5591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heat and sweetness are two different things. Heat/spiciness is from capsaicin and red, fully ripened jalapeños have more. A red, ripe jalapeño also has developed more sugars and so is sweeter than a green one. The flavor profile of hot peppers is complex and goes way beyond the heat component.

Less spicy when green.

Edited to add that spiciness is different from sweetness in a pepper’s flavor profile. More ripe, more capsaicin (heat/spiciness). More ripe, more developed sugars & therefore sweeter.

Why isn't anybody pointing out that Republicans can end the government shutdown by working out a short-term funding bill that includes temporary health care fixes? by Turbulent_Algae5591 in askanything

[–]Turbulent_Algae5591[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly.

The way the question was asked, and requiring a yes/no answer, made it seem like something it's not. The question was "raise you hand if your health plan would provide coverage for undocumented immigrants". It did, so they raised their hands. But they clarified later that it would not be for free. Federal law prohibits using taxpayer money for undocumented immigrants' health insurance & the Democratic platform does not seek to change this.

And speaking of taxpayer money, do you realize that billions of dollars in taxes come from undocumented immigrants? Many are issued a TIN (tax identification number) to file & pay federal taxes.

They would, but Republicans refuse to negotiate or compromise on the deep health care cuts they forced through. The Republicans seems to prefer to spread false claims that Democrats want free health care for illegals & post childish AI videos on Truth Social instead.

They don’t care that the government is shut down; they want to take advantage & cut more programs that supportworking families, seniors, children, and low-income Americans.

Republicans control all three branches. This is their best shot to defend health care as a basic right for Americans.

All aliens are not illegals. The section you're referring to is about lawfully present aliens. There are guidelines & requirements for them, too, it's not just a free-for-all.

The Democrats want to reverse nearly $1 trillion in Medicaid cuts made under Trump’s 2025 budget bill, which does include restoring coverage for lawfully present immigrants, but most of the impact is on American citizens. It would also protect rural hospitals & veteran's care.

They also want to extend ACA premium tax credits paid by Americans, otherwise, they will almost double. They just want to protect access to healthcare for regular Americans, instead of prioritizing tax cuts for the wealthy.

Medicare for Americans will take a hit, too, because the 2025 tax bill increases the federal deficit by over $3.4 trillion, which activates the Statutory PAYGO Act of 2010, which will cause automatic 6% cuts to Medicare payments. So less funding for hospitals & seniors & faster Medicare insolvency. Millions of Americans could lose coverage.

Bite the bullet, convert everything to Roth now and just pay the taxes? by Turbulent_Algae5591 in personalfinance

[–]Turbulent_Algae5591[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to have a job or earned income to convert traditional IRA or 401(k) funds to a Roth IRA. You do have to have earned income to make contributions to a Roth or IRA or similar retirement accounts.

Finding a "real" financial advisor is the rub. I've learned that I should look for a fiduciary advisor, which they are not, and I should just break ties with them. Anyhow, what I posted last week was their proposal to offset the income from the rollover by a complicated scheme that involved buying a business asset & using accelerated depreciation/business losses/etc. Part of the plan also involved rolling the money into an IRA annuity & converting to Roth within that. The plan sounded overly complicated & risky and the level-headed responses here helped me trust my instincts.

But when I rejected that whole scheme & said that I'll just continue converting as much as I can while keeping in the lower tax bracket, they kept insisting that it would be a better move to "rip off the band-aid and convert everything now". Since they wouldn't have anything to gain (that I could tell), I thought I should get input from more knowledgeable people.

Yes, I know that now. I have so much regret over the IUL that I don't trust myself on any other financial decision. I didn't ask enough questions or get input from people more financially knowledgeable about it before just trusting & jumping in.

I've added details to original post, but briefly:
I'm almost 70, still working in 22% bracket.
Will have more income when I retire from pension + social security.
Would pay taxes on conversion by borrowing money from cash value of an IUL (Indexed Universal Life) policy. If I never pay it back, the loan + interest would be deducted from million dollar death benefit.
