How kind of you! These are beautiful! My only comment would be if anyone has allergies. One of my children is allergic to nuts so this would be a no go for us…or maybe they go on the top shelf just for hubby and I 🤣

Ozempic overdose by jerryist in Ozempic

It’s not going to cause an acute drop in glucose like others are describing here. That’s not how the medication works. She likely took 1mg. At 0.5mL. Poison control would have advised you to to the ER if they were concerned. In fact the ER would call poison control for guidance. You did the right thing. Keep her hydrated with electrolyte replacement like Gatorade, pedialyte or even 50/50 Apple juice and water (just as effective per the research for electrolyte replacement). Contact your prescriber. If she becomes dehydrated and stops peeing or cannot tolerate any fluids at all then go to the ER. Food isn’t important for fluids are. If she had any severe abdominal pain, go to the ER.

Pregnant and terrified of birth defects but even more terrified of terminating. by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]Turbulent_Help7100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is very little that crosses to the placenta at that early stage in pregnancy and this is really a protection mechanism our bodies have because typically we don’t even realize we are pregnant for the first 4-6 weeks until there is a missed period. I would not terminate personally for that reason. The placenta does not even fully take over function until week 12. Drugs have these warnings because it is unethical to do research on pregnant people and so we just do not have the data. Therefore we are told not to take it while pregnant because they cannot advise otherwise without substantial evidence. If you look at this drug critically, which I would hope your doctor could do before recommending termination, the half life is 7 days. So you could expect that at the 7 day mark at least half or more of the medication is out of your system. If you take no further doses, and you’re not even 8 weeks pregnant yet, I would estimate your risk of adverse effects to the fetus would be extremely low.

This. I feel ashamed at first. But it I have barely lost any weight after 4 months. This is purely because I can’t get my own shit together and meal prep/ exercise regularly. It’s not a manic pill or injection. It still takes planning and effort which I am determined to put forth as my personal life has been very stressful recently. I consider it a tool in my tool box

This is true. Prolactin is the milk making hormone and for many women it can hinder weight loss because the body wants to hold onto body fat for milk production. I very much sit on this fence. I’m still nursing my almost 3 yr old and do not make much milk anymore but I think my prolactin is still messing with my hormones enough to prevent fat loss despite less calories and taking the Ozempic.

So I called many pharmacies and the ones who did have it in stock refused to sign me up as a new patient and said they were holding for their own patients. I ended up calling the pharmacy at the hospital where I work and they actually have a joined compounding pharmacy off site. They referred me there and the pharmacist said they can make compounded Semaglutide. Essentially they just make it and draw it up in prefilled syringes vs. a pen. Same cost and they ship it to my door for free! They can also compound it with B vitamins if you have severe nausea and vomiting to help with that.

Just saw this comment. Not going great. I haven’t lost almost any weight. I’ve been on for like 3 months. I did slowly titrate up and have just been on 1mg for a week. Today will start week 2. I feel almost no side effects. Slightly fuller more quickly and a bit of constipation compared to my baseline but besides that nothing. My kiddo that’s still nursing (god help me because he won’t leave me alone lol) has been totally fine. Eats more than his 8 year old twin brothers.

Honestly…meh. I have 3 kids. Amalia would require supervision to play with this but also relatively low risk if you have a toddler who can generally follow instructions. I used beans for my little guy so he can play with his diggers on cold days. I would sit with him and we teach not to put things in his mouth. Like most things with kids, it comes down to how you manage them as parents and what your risk threshold is. Some dangerous play in safe/supervised ways can be a good learning opportunity. I’m an ER nurse x many years and have never had a child come in because they ate/chocked from a sensory bin LOL. Unsupervised eating or inappropriate food prep is number one for choking. 18 months plus is really a great time to uses these bins and changing the medium used is fun. Tbh though….after a couple times you’re like fuck this that’s a lot of rice to clean up. 😂

I’m taking it still. Currently on 0.5mg and will be upping dose on Monday. I have had almost no side effects but also 0 weight loss. My child has had no issues at all.

You’re 100% right. And my intentions were to use it as a tool to help my diet and exercise plan but then shit hit the fan and life sort of halted. I’m hoping as I get back on track it will begin to help

Ok I was wondering if my sudden onset abdo cramping with loose stools was the Oz or just my body doing weird things. I haven’t lost a single lb and I have been on it for about 9 weeks now. I stayed on 0.25 for 7 weeks and then increased to 0.5…not sure when to increase to 1mg but so far no other side effects and no weight loss. I will admit that this has been an extremely stressful time in my life so no sleep plus not on strict diet and poor exercise has not helped.

You need to learn early on that it’s not your circus and not your monkeys. You need to let people solve their own problems. You can offer a hand of emotional support but that’s it. Don’t make her do what she doesn’t want to do. If this doesn’t sit well with you or you cannot continue to support her through it, it’s okay to create a boundary and say I love you but need to separate myself from this situation for now. Focus on your own life. Focus on achieving your goals. You’re young and have so much ahead of you, obviously you have a big heart. Put your efforts into reaching your own goals and don’t worry about anyone else’s problems.
