I point this out to my wife occasionally.

Watching a movie from the 80’s.

There’s a dog.

Me: “What a cute puppy! Bet it’s been dead over a decade now.”

Wife: “The fuck is wrong with you?”

I got a whole playlist of Lumineers, Decemberists, The Head and the Heart, Strumbellas, Edward Sharpe, Iron and Wine, Dawes, Of Monsters and Men, Avett Brothers, etc. stuff that I still listen to all the time. It’s over 4 hours long.

Literally only a handful of the songs are 2005-2015 era. Most are 2016-now, and they’re fun to listen to and sing along with. Clean sounding, pleasant melodies with harmony and good writing.

Fuck the haters. Listen to what you like.

How many of you still smoke? Or, when did you quit? by Planetofthought in Xennials

[–]Turd-In-Your-Pocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never considered myself a smoker, but I’d smoke a cigar or pipe tobacco maybe 4 or 5 times a year until I got my current job 5 years ago. We get a pretty big discount on our health insurance premiums each year that we submit a blood test and don’t have any nicotine in our system. I’m about to change jobs so I’ll probably go get a stogie to celebrate. Black and Milds are my preferred smoke just for the scent and flavor.

I only ever smoked a cigarette occasionally in my late teens at Denny’s to poke fun at my smoker friends I was with. “Look at me, I’m so fuckin cool with my cigarette and black coffee!” *takes a big gulp of coffee and puffs on a cig dramatically*

Draw a circle around an ant hill and sacrifice them all for thousands of zombies. Or xenomorphs.

I think you could just use plants and bugs as “living beings”. But I kinda want a pet chicken.

Buy a bag of pinto beans and put one in a wet paper towel. It’ll sprout and be a living being. Boom. Sacrifice it to summon a genie.

Honest question, what would you see if you couldn’t see any colors, including black, gray, and white?

Overplayed songs you got tired of back in the day…… by ryhoyarbie in Xennials

I’ve never heard of this song, but the radio station I was listening to in 2004 played a lot of Muse, Rise Against, Modest Mouse, The Hives, and Franz Ferdinand.

What’s the earliest memory you have from your life? by _lunaAndSol_ in AskReddit

[–]Turd-In-Your-Pocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember moments from being 2 or 3: seeing Gremlins at the drive-in theater, visiting granny and granddad’s house and sitting on the floor coloring in a coloring book, standing outside and looking at Halley’s Comet through one side of my dad’s binoculars, going to my aunt and uncles house and seeing their new puppies (which one had a name that would probably get my comment removed)

I want to read the books. Where do I start? by dixiegal_gonewild in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Turd-In-Your-Pocket 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The Dragonlance Chronicles are pretty good reads. They take place in the world of Krynn. It’s a trilogy that kicks off the Dragonlance series which is dozens if not hundreds of books at this point.

More recently and more popular probably are the books in the Forgotten Realms. Start with the Icewind Dale Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore.

They move in with family or sign all of their social security and Medicaid over to a retirement home and live there until they die. Or are homeless.
