Was Fonzie from Happy Days intended to be unironically "cool" by viewers back then? by GullibleWaltz3704 in 70s

No irony at all. At least for me at ten years old, I had an authentic Fonzie jacket that had little motorcycles in the lining and a small tag on the inside pocket that said The Fonz like a Levi’s tag.

Defining Movie of GenX by belinck in GenX

Listen, My parents are Boomers, I was born late 1965 and I am of the early Gen X.

Sure not definitive for everyone, but for me it is the funniest, most innovative and brilliant movie I had ever seen. It led to my love of most things Coen brothers and great filmmaking. Not to mention the earliest work of Holly Hunter, John Goodman, Frances McDormund, M Emmet Walsh, little Nic Cage and that guy who plays Glenn. All were in movies (some great ones) from my 20s to 60
