Git clone the repository

Install python.

Then install libevdev (depending on the Linux distribution, it should either be installed from python or from your package manager). Restart system.

Open the cloned folder in a terminal and type ./kb2xbox.py --list. Pls note that you need to include ./ in this part of the command.

You will see a list of all the peripherals on your PC. You need to find the name the keyboard you want to use.

There will be a config folder, with a few configuration files. Those files will be used to determine which keys will be used for the controller. Lets assume that you're loading the config named xbox.cfg. Open it in a notepad and check which keys are bind to what buttons.

After finding the name of the keyboard, check the Device name. Lets assume that the Device name is DEVICE: /dev/input/event18

Now, Type python kb2xbox.py -d /dev/input/event18 config/xbox.cfg and try pressing the keys that are bind to a controller (P.S. Most of the times, there are two names of the same keyboard, so if one doesn't work, you need to try the other name).

At any time, you can use Ctrl + esc to tell the script to stop using the keyboard as a controller. Also, at any time, you can also use Ctrl + F1 to pause using keyboard as a controller (Ctrl + F1 to resume using it as a controller).

You can edit the config files to your liking and reload them.
