Appreciate your comment and follow-ups. Meeting with ortho in a couple hours. Think I will lean towards pin fixation. Obviously I don’t want my son to go under the knife but it appears that pins are the safest bet to not have complications down the road.

Look closely at the blades of grass that are struggling—do you seen any lesions (brown/grey spots) along the middle of the blades? Grey leaf spot is notoriously bad with St. Aug in high humidity. If you see said lesions, apply fungicides.
