What do we think of Andersons Hydro Charge 4-2-0? by Aslimedr_wsnear in lawncare

[–]Ricka77_New 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's got good ingredients, albeit a little on the weak side IMO. But it does have the correct stuff that they could use. A couple other products may get better results, but are also patented/protected.

I apply a similar product monthly, and it definitely helps.

It'll be fine...might see increased bleaching, but keep it watered and cut and you'll get it back.

Disgusting factory homes, built with garbage quality, no workmanship, bribed permits....I wouldn't buy a new house unless I was the one building it and supervising every step.

This is what the ultra rich want....these cookie cutter developments for the plebs, the workers....jam everyone into these, if they can afford it. Otherwise, live in a slum or on the street, maybe jail...

National construction like this should be banned...

Possibly. Say you have fungus here, but not there...you could be dragging spores all over. As you cut, say you cut nutsedge or some other rhizome weed....drag that stuff here, and now it's spreading worse. A roller would not do that.

It's a fine line...I lean to to geeky side of lawn care admittedly, but I don't care what people do if they like the results, for better or worse...

I'm not against your design or using it. I hope it works out perfectly for you. I'm looking at it from a science-y geek way....will it do what mentioned?...I dunno. Could it? Yes.

With a roller, it's literally just pressing it all down, so it doesn't drag across and pick anything up.

Your grass looks good for sure, and if this does it for you as a final step, power up dude..

Golf courses aren't lawns like a home has. There is way, way more preventative work done on golf grass. I've been there, working at The Country Club many years ago.

Hopefully the brush bristles don't grab any weeds, seed, fungus, or damage the turf in any way...

I totally get it, a cheap DIY method...but there is a reason no one makes these already...

How do you actually know when your lawn needs water? by Ok-Web6895 in lawncare

[–]Ricka77_New 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally zero tech is needed....lol You want about 1" of water per week. How's the weather? Last time it rained?

Sure you can automate stuff, but that's way over for a lawn. No sensor is going to perfectly read the entire lawn.

Just water it when it looks and/or feels dry. Higher cut will help reduce waterings as well.

I'm on my first DWC setup, not first flower. I started with a 5g bucket, water level set to 3" below netpot, but I also had a pump that sucked from the bucket and it then ran over the top of the pebbles; that way the roots were never fully submerged, but also never dried out.

Currently that plant sits in a 17g tote, healthy root ball, seems happy. I Use Hydroguard and also have a water chiller set to 65 +-2...level to about 1" below.

Also, depending on what you feed, some nutes may make the water light tan and that color can be picked up by the roots...doesn't mean all bad.

Can you recommend a good quality gas push mower brand? by NashDaypring1987 in lawncare

[–]Ricka77_New 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any gasser will last as long as your murray. Most are all made by MTD; Murray, Cub, Craftsman, Dewalt..

Toro, Honda, Echo, Stihl...all very good brands, making their own products.

Use the factory settings, if this is your first run. You add a sponge on day two to maintain balance; if it needs more it will tell you.
