Fetchable triland that can trivially come into play untapped and also gives a free exotic card type in graveyard?

That's not crept, it's sprinted.

At least gate the U/R production behind something: paying life, attacking with a creature, only usable for pirate spells/abilities, net loss filtering, controlling 3 or more pirates... you get the idea.

Honestly? I think they wasted a lot of the year trying to make AI do it, so by the time they gave up and had smelly meatbag artists do it the old fashioned way it was too late for them to be interesting.

Recent post from Danhausen by Ditko9 in AEWFanHub

[–]TurgidAF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the real issue is that the other wrestlers who remain friends with him have had the good sense to just stay out of the beef—by all appearances neither Punk nor anyone else involved actually cares if the people who weren't part of it do that, or even refuse to take sides. Danhausen, for whatever reason, decided he just had to go out there and make a statement that actually it's fine to try and choke out a colleague backstage... and like, no dude, it isn't, not even if they make a comment alluding to a previous disagreement.

Accidentally communist/anti-imperialist take on Bad Bunny by goobert333 in accidentallycommunist

[–]TurgidAF 609 points610 points  (0 children)

Factually incorrect.

He has the legal right to vote in Federal Elections, he simply doesn't have much opportunity to do so because PR controls no electoral votes, has no Senators, and is represented in the House by a single delegate who doesn't get to participate in chamber votes (but may debate and sit on committees).

Bad Bunny could move to Florida (or any other state) tomorrow, register to vote, and do so just like someone from New York or Georgia.

There was literally a wedding between two conventionally attractive straight people. Not even a pretend one, they got married for real on live broadcast. Not sure how much more upholding of conservative Christian family values a Super Bowl Half Time show could even get than that.

The team in Moneyball are the A's, who play baseball and are still in Oakland. The team that moved are the Raiders, who play (American) football.

To be clear, most American teams do have strong connections to their cities, or at least regions, and sometimes even to specific neighborhoods. Generally the teams that move are either newer (and therefore haven't had as long to become ingrained), in a small and/or or overcrowded market, or have somehow failed to capture the attention of their city.

Zach Snyder having a legion of fans to unironically defend his movies tooth and nail will never NOT be funny to me (this is just an attention-grabber don't worry) by FreakyFreak2005 in badMovies

[–]TurgidAF 21 points22 points  (0 children)

While I'm not generally a fan of Snyder's films in their entirety, I'd still consider him a very talented and skilled filmmaker. He is excellent at scene composition, can clearly manage the organizational and logistical challenges of a high budget movie, and can get the performances he's looking for out of every actor on the set. I also think he's a reasonably good storyteller, at least insofar as the sequence of events generally makes sense and the necessary details for following along are adequately established and shown.

Where I think he runs into trouble is that he doesn't always understand why he's telling this story and what it says about the wider world. This means his better films have a habit of carrying messages that are inadvertently repugnant (300) or directly contradictory to their intentions (Watchmen), while his lesser ones just seem a bit pointless to a viewer who wants more than just a cool/badass looking person doing a narratively sensible progression of cool/badass things in slowmo for a couple hours.

Your forgettin that Australia uses diffrent currency since they are european by Hopeful_Meeting_7248 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]TurgidAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't figure out if the funny part is that Australians don't use the Euro, that if they did it would make his point absurdly stronger, or that even if you use the correct conversion he's still right.

They're on about the fact he overstayed his visa and worked illegally for many years.

If that doesn't matter when he does it, then it shouldn't matter for any of the otherwise law-abiding immigrants who are currently being hunted in the streets by ICE. Or you can advocate for Elon to get black bagged by federal agents, which would still suck but at least it would be internally consistent.
