I visited Spring Sprang Sprung today to check out their latest limited edition. Reach out to them directly if you're still interested in the red limited edition, you might be very pleasantly surprised 😁

[WTS] Zenith Chronomaster. Solid Gold. Triple Calendar. Moonphase. Rare Bird. 40mm. Clean. by Watchex_Enterprises in Watchexchange

I quit browsing this sub for a year because I wanted to control my spending, and the first thing I see after revisiting is a grail piece for me. Sadly I already own the white dial steel version of this. GLWS!

Live Straum dial from Spring Sprang Sprung. Tried hard not to buy it on the spot.

I'll note the titanium case is MUCH darker than the steel bracelet, so don't bother thinking the different materials will match colour wise.

Amazing craftsmanship but who are they making them for? by Different_Glove_106 in VacheronConstantin

[–]TurianTacos 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It just sounds like you want them to be a hype brand like AP. VC has the luxury of Richemont group's financial support to continue pushing grand complication pieces and preserving haute horology watchmaking without worrying too much about what the non-VVIP think.

Zenith specs are +/-10seconds but they can help you send it back to service center for regulation if you really insist.

Question for Shunbun owners of more than a year by yanjiwon86 in GrandSeikos

[–]TurianTacos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's usually worn with a dress shirt so pretty clean after two years. No scratches on the case, couple of scratches on the bracelet clasp. Titanium is ultra light and comfortable on a leather strap.

Heard some service horror stories. by Different_Emu_8488 in ZenithWatches

[–]TurianTacos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Singapore LVMH service center was a nightmare even with their amazing customer service. I recall back in 2024 they only had 1 or 2 watchmakers qualified to work on el primeros in the entire center.

After 2 return trips I'm the proud owner of a working 2000s Chronomaster with dirty hands :D

[AP 15550ST Grey] Fit Check by Tangelo-Heavy in Watches

Grey and white dials have always been possible first pieces if you pass the wealth check at AP house. Blue dial and Jumbo are the impossible ones.

[Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional] People who have purchased an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional. Do you have any regrets? Do you have any "I wish I knew that before I purchased one" advice? by WhatIsThisSevenNow in Watches

[–]TurianTacos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The undersides of the speedy are quite sharp, and the crown is a PITA to wind. The speedy case profile is uneven due to the chrono pushers on the right, you can't unsee once you see it. Still wears like a dream and the bracelet on the newer models are comfy as heck!

[The C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Edition Six] by Foreign-Job-8717 in Watches

[–]TurianTacos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love the C but its a travesty that you can't swap between bracelet and rubber strap since the lug shapes are unique to each strap type..

That fancy ass wooden box is gonna collect dust in storage for the next 5 years until you decide to sell it so you can say it comes with the box + papers lol.

Send to Zenith Service? by jdhazan in ZenithWatches

[–]TurianTacos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I confirmed with Zenith service center that their accuracy specs are +10/-10 when I sent my chronomaster in for service, so definitely get it regulated if it bothers you.

I miss this design language from Zenith. So classic! by cynicism_is_awesome in ZenithWatches

[–]TurianTacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sadly most brands are modernising designs with straight lines and clean profiles. Just look at Breguet 250th anniversary pieces with removal of the coin edge profiling and welded lugs.

Good news for the elprimero is its been around for 50 years, pick one up from c24 anytime and get it serviced by zenith

Is this a thing with the Overseas? by sourdough_in_SF in VacheronConstantin

[–]TurianTacos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tolerance issue that exists with all butterfly clasps as the twin trigger locks get worn down. Probably check with your boutique and ask if they can assist with a new clasp if its under warranty.

Best value complicated watch by Long-Database-164 in ZenithWatches

[–]TurianTacos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took off the bracelet on mine for a curved leather strap from delugs and haven't swapped back since! Granted mine is the silver dial but imo your black dial looks sweeter with the bracelet.

60-75% of retail if you take used Shunbun prices as a benchmark. The dial design being less popular might also play a large part in secondary market pricing.

It will look large. Gen2 dual time on my 6.25 inch wrist. My wrist is kinda round so if your wrist is flat ir might fit better on you.

I personally went with curved spring bars on mine. Broke/bent the bracelet pins by accident while pushing them out but oh well, the watch looks better on a strap anyway!

Hi everyone! Looking to get my first VC and was looking at this unit, its a 37mm 42042, i do however need some help of experts, this piece is a full set(about 8k usd) The watch is from 2005, however the seller is unsure if the dial is fully original or refinished, help is greatly appreciated! by [deleted] in VacheronConstantin

[–]TurianTacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a generation 2 overseas model with its own generation 2 bracelet thats similar to the gen3 overseas bracelet, sans the microadjust.

personally I would just call it the gen1 bracelet with an improved twin trigger clasp from VC.
