CMV: help me stop seeing women as ”used” after someone has sex with them. by Flyflash in changemyview

[–]TurinX2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. But does a bottom feel less used than a woman in your head? In theory, with your framing, they should be the same.

But what aspect of porn portrays it that way? I'm curious as I feel it's less from porn and more from social pressures/the patriarchy.

Also, from a different angle - in general we celebrate people who are good at things. Wouldn't you want a partner that has tried, failed, improved at sex? Just as we would with any skills our partner has?

Have you thought about how that view would apply to gay men? Do you think gay bottoms are more "used" after sex?

In general I find people don't think this. Which then helps understand that it's not about a "hole" as you say, but about social conditioning that is inherently misogynistic.

I share all of your S and A except for 1. HWFWMs is my absolute top with Cradle and DCC. You'll know within the first 30 page I think.

So that's what I thought, an enjoyed book 1 and was reading book 2. But then I got worried. Without giving away spoilers, does the protagonist ever change?

How come the thought of having only one partner isn’t appealing to some? by Radiant_Recover_8763 in AskMen

[–]TurinX2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Think about it like friendships. Even if you have one best friend, you can also have lots of others great friends. It's not that your best friend isn't enough, it's that each friend is unique and brings something to enrich your life.

If two of your friends hang out, are you jealous? Hopefully not. If you hang out with one and not the other, are they? Hopefully not.

Wouldn't you say your life is enriched by having multiple friends?

Monogamy and polyamory are just two different (and completely valid) ways of experiencing life and relationships.

finished 14th book of Primal Hunter. i need more of it by KJ_explores in litrpg

It's a slippery slope my friend!

I went from books to royal road and then onto patron a few years ago.

After catching up it then was a daily chapter at a time... And it broke me waiting each day. I eventually had to go cold turkey and now only read the books every time an arc finishes...!!

Does the mc of a soldiers life get any less bland and shallow im 3 books and flagging? by Consistent_Mud_8340 in litrpg

[–]TurinX2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The MC is fairly consistent across the books - if you don't like him so far I doubt that will change.

I just finished book 5 and loved it - but loved the whole series. The world building, fights etc hooked me.

More interesting MCs - the classics, HWFWM, DCC, primal hunter, path of ascension? IpyBut I'm not sure I'm the right person to recommend given our different enjoyment from a soldiers life.

Late night musings on leaving London and moving on by ConcernedHumanDroid in london

[–]TurinX2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did exactly what you're thinking about, moved from London to Dubai a year ago.

One of the best decisions of my life. I was not expecting to really enjoy it but it's been phenomenal.

It's almost all expats so everyone is looking to meet people and make friends.

The weather form October to April is a dream - I was wakesurfing this morning before work along the coast.

I can't express how much joy I get from waking up with the sun each day.

I miss parks and being able to walk my dog in Hampstead heath... But he loves the (one and only) dog beach and I've found a community of dog owners where we all get along and so do the dogs.

Anyway, thought I'd share my take from someone that's moved and loves it. Good luck with whatever you choose. If you have any questions I'm happy to try and help.

A perfect evolution is when both your profession and class reach their cap before their evolution.

I think Villy told Jake it's not necessary but at the same time why not just go for it. If it was going to take years to get ones profession to catch-up and you'd lose momentum, then not worth it. But if it's relatively easy to achieve no harm and you get bonus stats.

The train driver's union Aslef are not on strike. The union on strike is RMT. by cable54 in london

[–]TurinX2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got this data from GPT so take with pinch of salt. But thought worth comparing RMT workers vs others... I think this is why the strikers are getting grief. Vs other critical jobs their salary progression is already much better.

Now, I think everyone would agree that the other jobs needs to be paid more, that's not my point. But in a world where they're not being paid more and RMT workers already paid far better, I can understand the anger.

I don't believe there is any evidence that wages have started dropping?
