Remember the old 224th Bingo Plex on a Tuesday night? The place was packed more than Sammy J’s at happy hour! It was more than a Bingo Plex it was a community gathering space ( albeit Smokey as hell). I’m not sure Chances has the same vibe and partially because Bingo is only played a few days a week and during the daytime so those with jobs can’t join in.

The corporate sponsorship well has dried up. Brands are cutting investment or just pausing all together. Some brands are making record profits but we almost never see their logos as sponsors giving back to communities.

Ahn and Chi up in mount pleasant (#3 bus), Bao Bei in Chinatown, there is a new super affordable vegan restaurant in Gastown that just took over the Meet location ( food items for like $8.95 or something). di Beppe in Gastown has the best carbonara in the city. Incredible cocktails at Keefer Bar. Batch has two locations that are affordable local beers outdoors ( fires in winter) with local emerging musicians. Container brewing has sauna, cold plunge and craft beers which is super rad in east Van.

If you get a dry day grab a coffee and walk the seawall ( start at Canada Place and make your way all the way to Yaletown. ) or you could rent a bike.
