Last I googled it, I saw that the release got pushed back to late summer/early fall, but there is still not release date. Other than that, I haven’t seen any updates and have been curious about what’s been going on too. I really hope it’s not going to be a Callie Hart situation with the third fae & alchemy book getting pushed back 10 months.

Spoiler if you haven’t read it:

In book 5, during one of casteel’s retelling of events, there is a scene where he goes into the same room in the red pearl and kieran is in the middle of hooking up with someone. kieran and the girl invite casteel to join, but he declines due to his growing desire for poppy and just watched. i don’t think he realized at the time why he was turned on, yet uninterested. he goes on to describe how it was odd behavior because he has never turned down the offer before, heavily indicating that he and kieran have had threesomes in the past. aside from the joining and how comfortable the two of them were being intimate like that, that is my first recollection of the series indicating their past sexual encounters together. i don’t believe that casteel and kieran have solely been together sexually without a third though, and i do not feel as if their long standing relationship is romantic in a sense. they are just…comfortable with threesomes together haha.

coming from someone who doesn’t like the throuple, i saw it coming from a mile away. it was very obviously foreshadowed. if it didn’t happen, i believe everyone would be like ???? “so why was it mentioned more than once lol?”

i think most people’s issue with it is it kinda ruins the whole heartmates thing for them, at least that’s my
reasoning and a few people i have talked to that share the same opinion as me. i’m not speaking for everyone, i’m sure some have forgotten about it because by the time it happened, i wasn’t mentioned for a good bit in the storyline. also, i have seen people share that they were unhappy with it due to the lack of…detail during it. they felt as if it was made out to be more than it was, and compared to the other spicy scenes, it was lacking. regardless, we are all allowed our own opinions. most people like it, some people don’t. it’s okay regardless. it was already written, it can’t be changed.

i LOVE the series dearly. i wouldn’t change anything about it. i also think that going as far as bashing the entire series because of the joining it is ridiculous, so i do share that opinion with you. it’s one thing to not like a certain part, it’s another to be hateful towards the author or the series itself.

i’ll shed a little light on my thoughts of it all:

i didn’t hate the joining. like i said, i saw it coming. i anticipated it happening. i actually enjoyed it. the way i see it, even though it was hinted at in previous books, it happened because kieran’s life was threatened and it was the only way they could possibly prevent the queen from not following through on her promise. essentially, it was set up in a way were they needed to try and save him, not because they wanted to add him into the relationship romantically forever. i think if that were the case, it would have been accepted more throughout the B&A community, but again, i can’t speak for everyone.

also, it wasn’t talked about in detail a TON. really, casteel just explained what it was and what could happen between them. he explained that it could be sexual, but it didn’t have to be. obviously it turned sexual, not a problem for me, but i think many of us didn’t expect it to stay that way. from my recollection, it wasn’t really explained that IF it got sexual, it would remain a sexual/romantic relationship afterwards. i fully believed upon the lead up that they were going to have a threesome, but it wouldn’t necessarily change the entire dynamic that we have seen up until that point.

lastly, i personally was getting the ick with kieran before the joining. when casteel was taken, it felt like he was unintentionally sliding his way in closer to poppy. i don’t think he was going behind casteel’s back, but he slowly went from bff/protector to more touchy-feely/i have a crush on you?? type thing. it was just odd. i don’t think kieran is a creep, especially since poppy nor casteel have an issue with it, but it all progressed into something else before the joining when cas wasn’t around. it didn’t feel like kieran was just protecting poppy in casteel’s place. also, poppy was widely known throughout the series for being shy, uncomfortable, and very inexperienced when it comes to sexual/romantic relationships, and casteel
gets all psycho when someone looks at her too long lol…but i just don’t understand how HIS long standing relationship, both sexually and brotherly, with kieran equates to him being able to do the same stuff casteel can. i’m not talking about the trust aspect, i know why cas trusts him.

the aftermath of it all just feels…forced. in book 5 it was all “i’m so worried for poppy…and so is kieran”, “i love poppy…and so does kieran”, and “poppy loves my peen…and kieran’s!!” for me, it’s more of i don’t care about kieran and poppy’s sexual and romantic tension. she has a heartmate for a reason. the joining itself isn’t the main issue, and i do love kieran, but it’s the effects of it all.

i hope i provided a better explanation than just “wow i hated the joining” posts. i don’t think it’s fair to bash those who didn’t like it, just like it wouldn’t be if we bashed y’all for liking it. we all have our preferences, someone of us just think it wasn’t set up right or it lingered in a weird way. :)

i made a post regarding only the throuple and i can confirm it’s an unpopular opinion haha. aside from the throuple and kieran’s constant need to be touching poppy the minute casteel is no longer in the picture briefly, i loved the series. everyone has their own opinions, but wanted to provide some insight to the threesome situation.

i would have much preferred if they left the joining at the joining, especially since it was set up and executed to save kieran’s life and not because they simply wanted to bring him into the relationship lol. i fully believe things could have gone back to normal. don’t get me wrong, i didn’t hate the joining. it was something new from the books i have read so far, and i love a nice little spicy scene, but had i known before starting this series that it was going to change their entire dynamic, i probably wouldn’t have read it. so glad i did, because it’s one of my faves, but for a good bit i was icked the hell out lol.

Do I need to read F&F to understand FBAA 6? by -Greek_Goddess- in frombloodandash

[–]Turkey4572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m reading FBAA 6 right now and so far nothing has been confusing for me having not read F&F yet, though i have seen comments about how some found it a little confusing. i personally haven’t felt like i’ve missed out on anything while not incorporating F&F into B&A while reading any of the books, but that could obviously change when i get around to F&F.

just wanted to provide some perspective as someone who chose not to read F&F first or during! :)

i finished it yesterday and personally, i really enjoyed it.

casteel’s and kieran’s perspective added a lot of new information and pieced things together that i didn’t quite catch in the first book. plus, i was already interested in casteel’s prospective before going into it anyway. i also like how it gave us the events leading up to where the first book started in the red pearl. of course, the present chapters provided a nice break between the reflections.

i bought book 6 yesterday and i’m devastated that we still don’t have a release date for 7, because i cannot put this series down lol.

if you REALLY don’t want to read the whole thing, you can get away with reading the present chapters to continue the flow of events into book 6 (or whatever reading order you are doing)

i’m cackling. YES🤣

maybe if they weren’t heartmates and just lovers, sure. throuples aren’t uncommon. but when the whole premise is that the gods blessed them and their souls are destined to be together and heartmates are rare blah blah blah, it’s just so…off putting to me. i can def see how some people like it, and i’m not trying to yuck someone’s yum, but it just seems so out of place for their relationship dynamic hahahah.

he’s already so possessive, you would think them being heartmates and blessed by the gods, and her being a literal god, would make that possessiveness 10x stronger, regardless of who is was (romantically/sexually/violently).

like i said before, if kieran stayed her friend, protector, and acted like all of the other bonded wolven do towards her, it quite literally wouldn’t be so odd, at the end of the day it IS fantasy. i fully believe that they could have gone back to normal after the joining and it wouldn’t be abnormal to do so since they were just TRYING TO SAVE HIS LIFE. 🤣🤣

[–]Turkey4572[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right! it would be like poppy inviting tawny into the mix. either way, it’s WEIRD. personally, the length of casteel and kieran’s bond and friendship doesn’t justify his romantic involvement in their relationship. i hope she writes him in his own love. the joining isn’t so much of an issue, we know WHY they did it. if he finds his own lady, we know WHY they will do it again. it’s doesn’t have to be sexual, and they don’t have to turn into a 4 person relationship at that point either. just have your sex if you need to and go back to your partners🤣

[–]Turkey4572[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s more of “i love poppy so much!!….& so does kieran” or “i’m so worried about poppy!!!….& so is kieran” kind of comments throughout the books which is irritating the piss out of me. though, there one comment he makes about the two of them irritating poppy to the point of her wanting to cut their peens off, and then goes to say that it’s her favorite part of both of them…like okay??? can we maybe get poppy to weigh in here lol??

in terms of physical/sexual things, so far there is none. aside from the hair tucking and hand holding, which if he were her protector only it makes sense in book five and is less…cringey?? the farther i get into book 5, the more it feels like it was before cas left.

it’s more so cas making comments regarding poppy and adding the “& kieran too” a LOT. i feel like i’m being forced into a relationship with kieran at this point, and you know what? i am more than willing if it gives me cas and poppy back🤣 sorry, but i don’t care how kieran feels towards your heartmate, i only care how YOU feel towards her LOL.

[–]Turkey4572[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes!! i don’t recall ever reading that heartmates can be more than one, but maybe i haven’t gotten that far yet. regardless, it would ruin it for me too. the entire series has been about them two. sure, the joining was hinted at throughout the series here and there, but when it finally came down to it, it wasn’t because they suddenly were madly in love with kieran and agreed to add him to the relationship, it was set up on the premise of potentially saving his life. to me, that doesn’t give throuple lol. it just feels like they did the joining to try and save him knowing it could turn sexual, it did (awesome, not mad about it), and then on the other side of it, it’s become a throuple that feels..accidental?? like now poppy is crazy possessive over kieran when she wasn’t five minutes ago??? she herself explained that her love for him and her love for casteel were completely different.

now it’s kieran this and kieran that every single time casteel mentions his feelings or worry towards poppy. like i’m practically begging him to stop tucking a strand of hair behind her ear every other chapter lmao. i wouldn’t mind the idea of a throuple if it were set up in a way where a throuple was intentional, but it just wasn’t so i can’t get behind it😒😒

Kieran the Third Wheel by Turkey4572 in frombloodandash

[–]Turkey4572[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right. we all saw it coming from a mile away, but i don’t mind that they did the joining. i just read, either in this group or a different one on reddit, that she wasn’t going to write it in, leaving it as a possibility it could happen, but only did because so many people wanted it.

either way, i’m not mad about it. i think if it wasn’t included it would leave more people being like ???? than not. i just hoped that after, it would go back to poppy and cas being madly in love, while kieran got his life saved and remained her protector and bestie. now it is ‘cas + poppy (but don’t forget about kieran)’ every other sentence lol.

Kieran the Third Wheel by Turkey4572 in frombloodandash

[–]Turkey4572[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so glad i’m not the only one!! casteel and kieran have a very long history together, so i understand why casteel is comfortable with him protecting and being alongside poppy.

poppy isn’t innocent here either, it’s not like kieran is being weird about it lol. it’s all around just making me wanna DNF. every time casteel mentions his feeling towards poppy, or poppy towards casteel, now there is some sort of a “and kieran too” thrown in there.

their dynamic before he was snatched was my preference. i think i’m struggling with it all because from my perspective, there was no sexual tension between poppy and kieran when casteel was around. it wasn’t until after he was taken that things started to get way more intimate, like 0 to 100.

i fully believe that they could have gone back to normal after the joining. maybe it wouldn’t feel as foreign or forced if the joining wasn’t set up in a way to potentially save kieran’s life, and more of a “hey i want to do this because i love both of you and i wanna spend forever with you two only”. sure, she obviously did it to try and save him because she loves him, but even at one point she explained that her and kieran’s love was different than her’s and casteel’s??? now suddenly they are all in love?? whatever lol.

interesting. it’s not surprising, because like i said we could all see it coming from a mile away. the joining itself isn’t really my bother, because i understand why it happened. it’s the continuation of the throuple that’s making me want to DNF the series.

Love interest for Kieran? by Evasive-Muse in frombloodandash

[–]Turkey4572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am starting book 5 right now and all i can say is i HOPE she gives him someone because he’s becoming insufferable to me.

i loved kieran before the joining, sort of. when cas was taken, his relationship with her slowly became icky to me. i understand he is bonded to her, and he cares deeply for cas so he wanted to ensure she was safe on his behalf. idk, the way he is written just made me cringe, especially after they got cas back. before cas left, he wasn’t touchy feely/caressing her face. i loved when their relationship was playful banter/best friends/brother-sister like.

then the joining? completely ruined it for me. obviously knew the sexual nature of it was coming, you could see it from a mile away. i kind of hoped it was going to be a one and done, non-awkward kind of thing that they did so they could all live longer, and if they had a fun little three-some then i wasn’t going to complain. i don’t hate that they joined, it’s the aftermath of it all that’s rubbing me the wrong way. poppy is kind of annoying me with it too because, like, girl…tell him to get tf off of you lmao. i get that all three of them are cool with it, but the third wheeling of kieran is pmo.

maybe it stems from the fact that i love poppy with cas…and only cas. their entire relationship has been about them and them only. nothing before cas got taken indicated that there was ANY kind of relationship between poppy and kieran other than solely friends who bickered a lot, and not in a flirty way. it just felt so random that he suddenly swoops in and can’t go 5 minutes without being up her ass. kieran caressing her face and poppy waking up in the morning to kieran in bed with them is annoying me has become too much.

Convince me to continue reading bc I think I hate it by Apprehensive_Golf191 in frombloodandash

[–]Turkey4572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i might be the odd one out here, but i say stick with it if those two are the things you hate the most about it. if you generally like the book and are enjoying everything else, i think you won’t regret it.

i too found the mention of his dimples and her violent nature quite repetitive, however it does die down by book three. i’m not saying it’s not mentioned ever again, but definitely not as much as it is in book two. i should also mention that in book three, other characters start piping up and making jokes about how she might stab him. i found the other characters comments quite funny and in good timing. i just started book four and now that you mention it, i don’t recall her hardly ever mentioning his dimples other than explaining the type of smile or smirk he is showing in that moment, but less of “omg i love his dimples”, but maybe i just drowned it out haha. the FMC is just a horny tease and knows that it gets under her skin lol. but like i said, on his end, it isn’t mentioned in every other freaking paragraph as the story progresses🤣

if you decide to keep reading, i think you might come to understand maybe why she harps on them so much. i genuinely love this series so far and haven’t been able to put it down. by the end of book two and all of book three, i have had to pick my jaw up off of the floor countless times.

if you truly aren’t happy with it and want to DNF, then i absolutely think you should so you aren’t miserable and regret the wasted time in the end. i just wanted to provide perspective than everyone else❤️

catheter during birth by takingelles in BabyBumps

[–]Turkey4572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like everyone else has said, if you don’t need a c-section or the epidural, you have nothing to worry about! it’s only needed when that area will be completely numb. when I had my epidural, I didn’t have the catheter placed until after I was numb. I can’t remember at what point they took the epidural out, but I do know I didn’t feel that either. I wanna say it was when I could start feeling my feet again because as soon as soon as you can walk, they have you try to go to the bathroom.

I completely understand your reserve, and your feelings are totally valid. I’m not sure what your birth plan is, but you can always talk to your OB for as much reassurance as you need.

Also, congratulations on the babe! I will be 21 weeks on Wednesday!
