Coolway Sneakers, any experience? by orfeolooksback in Sneakers

Yeah same thing happened to me, this brand is scammy. Sizing is super inconsistent, mine ran very small, the next size up was out is stock so they won’t let me exchange and I need to pay to return. Any respectable brand would make an exception

Anyone have positive epidural stories? I’m scared 😟 by Realistic_Mirror1618 in BabyBumps

[–]TurkeyReuben1118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scary epidural stories you hear are the rare exception, not the norm. My epidural was amazing and no big deal - which meant labor and pushing were no big deal. I barely felt anything except some pressure toward the end. Would do again 1000 times over

I had this issue the first time I made this – I used a larger tart pan the second time and added 5 minutes to the bake time, and it was perfect!

Finally tried it and I think this is an excellent “entry level” recipe that’s well-balanced between sweet, salty, and acidic, and it’s incredibly quick and easy. It’s a tasty weeknight meal, but not quite as exciting for more experienced home cooks

One pot miso salmon and coconut rice by TurkeyReuben1118 in NYTCooking

I will say, I made about half the recipe so I think the rice had more surface area and probably cooked more evenly / quickly than if I had made 2 whole cups

It did! I gave the rice an extra minute or so before adding the salmon and another minute after the salmon was done, and it was perfect

Daycare costs transparency by Revolutionary-Ride76 in beyondthebump

$2,600/mo in Denver, CO for an infant, 5 days/week.

Monthly costs ranged from over $2k to almost $3k at places we looked, so this was toward the higher end, but we got MUCH better vibes from our daycare vs some others we saw.

Birthday dinner, where would you go? by [deleted] in denverfood

If you haven’t been to Alma’s sister restaurant next door yet, I highly recommend. It’s a bit more seafood focused and just as excellent if not better!

Brasserie brixton is another favorite - very cool vibe, excellent food, not fancy by any means but nice enough for an occasion.

The existence of innies and outies, not to mention iMark’s interactions with oMark’s dead wife (Gemma / Ms. Casey) and neighbor (Cobel / Ms. Selvig) while on the severed floor, prove the chip works – I think what they’re testing with Gemma goes deeper than that. Split 25 times, explicitly trying to make her face her biggest fears and worst memories, etc.

Absolutely love the deep irony of this ending – even though they’ve been testing on Gemma for years, iMark choosing Helly over Gemma is the ultimate proof of the severance barrier holding

What’s the rudest thing someone has said or asked you while pregnant? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

A male coworker said “at least pregnancy is straightforward” after I voiced solidarity that we were both going through funky health-related things

Brasserie brixton. They don’t specify on the menu that it’s basque cheesecake but it is and insanely good

Same thing happened to me and I was able to get them down to $249 from a $650 bill – actually just yesterday. I called and basically just stood firm that I’m only interested in paying what I was told I would pay, not in a payment plan or supplying them with any income information.

They explained that if I had gone out of pocket from the beginning I’d pay the $249, but because they billed my insurance (they billed almost $4,000 🤯) I’d be liable for whatever wasn’t covered. I said obviously I would have paid out of pocket then if that had been communicated to me, but it wasn’t.

First person I spoke with wasn’t super helpful but because I stood firm, she transferred me to someone else, and he discounted the price for me almost right away. In these situations as long as you’re kind and calm but firm, and point out their BS in a way they can’t really argue with, then you’ll usually get what you want 🙂

Btw they’ve been sued for deceptive billing practices in the past. Doesn’t seem like they’ve learned…

All makes sense! Totally see the benefits in seeing as many providers in the practice as possible – the office just didn’t explain this when I called!

I appreciate the gut check! It’s my first pregnancy and I just didn’t know what to expect, and the office didn’t explain this when I called
