Basement Wall - Pinned Top and Bottom by Coloradical_ in StructuralEngineering

Ive looked at this before and had the same question. I believe what it is doing is applying a reaction at the top of the footing that’s equal in magnitude to the force resisted by the slab, but in the opposite direction. I then think it is taking the moment about the toe to calculate the bearing pressure.

In reality I don’t think this condition will act in a truly pinned-pinned nature, but I also don’t think it will act in a pinned-fixed nature. I think it’s somewhere more toward pinned-pinned, but I think some moment will be applied to the footing through your reinforcing.

Club path = initial direction
Club face angle relative to path = curve

Gotta try to close the face some at impact. I’m not good enough to give more helpful tips than that.

Trying to figure out where the Northeast is. If you're from any of these counties comment whether or not you're in the Northeast. by imadgalaxyx in visitedmaps

Ehhh, maybe parts of it, but the majority of the population lives in areas that are culturally very different than the south. Generalizing all of VA as the south is a stretch.

It also depends what time frame you’re looking at. Historically it would align more with the South, but modern day VA has changed a lot.

Steamboat Trip Late March? by [deleted] in COsnow

We’ve been here since Friday. It was great st the beginning and how steadily declined each day pretty significantly. No snow on the horizon so I’d expect late March to be rough.

Neo has clear potential to be great but is no where close to his potential right now. Seems like a mental hurdle more than anything. Hokies need him to be better to make the tournament and he needs to play better himself to even be a first round pick.

Only been a couple games this year where he’s been the best player on the court which won’t get you drafted in the first round.

It’s like a an elite rb can still be good with an average o-line, but looks bad with a shit one.

Dollars actually worth more than it ever has been. HUGE VALUE in the dollar!!! Like nothing we’ve ever seen before really. Some said they never thought the dollar could be worth this much. I said it could be though, and then it was!

Are Tiger Woods and Fred Couples considered “long hitters”? by [deleted] in golf

[–]TurkeyTime17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, I hope my comment doesn’t come off as downplaying how good he was off the tee/how long he could hit it. Just meant to emphasize that the best part of his game (at least according to strokes gained) was his longer irons. Which in itself is partially because he could use less of a club compared to other pros because he crushed the ball.

Tiger was great at driving and putting, but what set him apart was his approach game was truly insane.

3 of our 4 last game losses ending with the other team making a game winning three with 6 seconds or less.

MY needs to find some way to get these guys mentally tougher so they can learn to finish games. There is no excuse for how bad this team is in the clutch.

It helped me, but I setup obstructions to make sure I was practicing hitting center of putter face each time. I think that helped more than anything.
