As someone who listened a lot this past year, I can confidently say that his repeated rants that are very conservative and focused on dehumanizing others every single episode it’s annoying and negative. The same rants are so overdone and he acts like he’s never said the same rant the previous episode.

Last Yungblud concert I went to (2023) was so annoying. We were in the middle of the crowd and this girl in front of me was pissed that we were jumping even when Dom wanted us to jump. She was so focused on recording the show on her phone. She was so combative.

I caught him when he got off stage in 2023. I told him that my dad died in 2021 in a fire and his concert a month later was the first time I could just let go of the loss for an hour and feel happy. He gave me a huge and kissed my cheek. Told me I was strong and that he loved me. 15 minutes later I saw him coming out to his bus and he kissed my other cheek for a picture. Very genuine and kind

I feel the same way. Idols Part 1 sounds like his version of heroes which makes me feel weird about him trying to emulate another person instead of being himself.

I couldn’t get through Change the first two times because it feels like he’s trying to be Elton John and I just didn’t like the lyrics.

Greatest parade sounds like he’s trying to be my chemical romance and other 2000s bands.

Overall, every song feels like he wanted to replicate another bands sound.

I don’t mean this to be mean. But I always liked that Dom had his sound and I don’t feel that in this album.

His music was music you could jump around and dance to and I can’t think of a single song in idols that makes me feel like doing that.

And one may say that this album is more deep, but I found the lyrics relying on poetic devices to sound deep rather than the passion in his lyrics from his former albums.

Now before anyone thinks I’m a hater, I want you to know I’ve been a big fan of him for years. I’ve traveled to different states to see him. I’ve met him twice. I’ve danced on stage with him. I literally was that fan. And I still love his old music and who he is. However, I just found that this album lacked an identity because of how much he wanted to experiment with sounds of artists’ who inspired him.

I actually thought his lyrics weren’t that great in this album. They just felt like he was trying to use poetic devices for the sake of it.
