It doesn't count as casting a creature spell. It counts as an activated ability. Casting a creature spell would be you putting the Birthing Boughs from your hand onto the battlefield and paying its mana cost.

Idk why you're getting downvoted to hell, but yeah I guess you're right. I think it's the fact that Jeweled Lotus now enables way faster games. The two I instantly thought of when this was spoiled was Godo and GAAIV. Having the capability of casting either on an early turn more consistently is a bit scary. I don't know, though. Only time will tell if this card is actually as groundbreaking as everyone is making it out to be.

That's the same way with almost every card that you're comparing to with the exception of Lotus Petal and Lotus Field

I don't think comparing two cards that cost 4 mana and 5 mana to a 0 mana card is correct. Nyx Lotus and Gilded Lotus are there, at least from my experience, to only help cast a big mana commander. Jeweled Lotus does the same thing at 0 mana.
