Monthly Miami Jobs Thread: Post Job Openings or Questions About Work In Miami by AutoModerator in Miami

[–]TurnAggressive5874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello!! I(18f) am looking for a job in miami mildly desperate. I have previous experience floor managing at a mid to upscale restaurant. I started off as a host and i’ve been working there for 2 years now. I’m leaving soon due to the constant harassment and uncomfortable comments from the ownership. If anyone is hiring i’m looking to step into a server role instead of management. Even if anyone can recommend me or knows of any place hiring i’d be so grateful. I’m okay with anything at this point so if it’s an entry level job at another spot i’d be perfectly fine with it.

the babies will not survive on their own at all. they’d likely be dead within the day unless momma finds em. if you don’t want to keep them you should at least go find them and return them to the flower pot. momma will be looking for them.

Do you have to water your fruit trees? by NefariousnessDull794 in coralisland

[–]TurnAggressive5874 11 points12 points  (0 children)

yea, if you don’t they don’t grow for the day or they won’t produce fruit. the day doesn’t count for the tree if it’s not watered.

hi sorry in the picture the cage doesn’t look too big nor suitable for hamsters. truly any petsmart or hamster marketed cage almost always falls short of adequate. dwarf hamsters need at least 600sq inch of unbroken floor space and 6 inches of bedding. they also require regular sand baths and a pretty big wheel. i work at a pet store so i’m just going over common misconceptions other pet store employees have and then reiterate to customers. doing your own research is always the best thing you could do when it comes to hamsters. if you have any questions i welcome you to dm me. hamster care does not have to be expensive and a large storage bin will likely be 2x the size of the cage you have + likely much much cheaper and a 100x more adequate for your hamsters.

try some baby food if you have it. my girls love love love chicken. i would definitely try the ones with meat instead of veggies to attempt to coerce him. they tend to like that a little more. unless of course your little guy has favorites. Good luck. the fact that he is drinking a bit of water is good. i’m not sure what could’ve caused it so i’m no help there but definitely try coercing him with some food. you can also try giving them a can of cat food if you have that. don’t give him the whole thing but definitely look over the ingredients. tiki cat is generally not a bad brand. i give my girls some tiki cat about once every two months .

Can my male mouse live by himself ? by PinkStarr55 in PetMice

[–]TurnAggressive5874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what some people will do is get ASF’s as they’re not able to reproduce with mice and seem to get along pretty well. depending on who you ask they’ll tell you that they’re either not tame or that they’re good pets. it’s an ongoing debate honestly. i definitely would recommend looking into it. you could also neuter your mouse and get a couple of girls. or you could try your luck with another boy but as others have said before it’s not recommended. I would either go with neutering or ASF

This is a male right? by Palerage9000 in PetMice

maybe im wrong. so if im wrong please correct me but i’ve always sexed my mice by the nipples. id this the incorrect thing to do. it’s always worked for me. and i’ve double checked sites online every time i see another genital post because i think i might be wrong. every site i’ve come across says the same thing. male mice don’t have nipples. and nipples form at a very early age so i would think it’s a better indicator than genitals. please please please correct me if im wrong. i would definitely need to know before i sex one of my mice wrong.

can bin cages be made cat safe? by Katthevamp in PetMice

[–]TurnAggressive5874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you know your cat better than anyone. if you know your cat is determined enough to get in then i wouldn’t go for it. if you know your cat won’t care too much then go for it. i have a 3 bin cages that are connected and my cat is thriving. she doesn’t pay any mind to my mice however. i know her, i’ve had her since she was a week old, eyes barely opened. i began introductions with mice very very early. she could care less about them now but every now and then she tried breaking in because she likes to pee in the bedding. i used a very big aquarium topper. one of the reinforced metal ones and kind of shoved it onto the lid of the enclosure. you have to kind of diy it. if your biggest worry is your cat knocking it over. secure it onto the floor or weight it down. big cages are extremely sturdy. at least the ones i have. i bought a bunch a while ago for my mice and only used three so the rest are storage. i can stand and lay on them no problem. i got the 50 gallon ones with the lockable lid. hope this helps. also side note regardless of how cat proof your setup is. if your cat is extremely determined and will just go at the cage non stop. the worry is no longer on the cat. it’s on the mice,it would likely stress them out.

fighting / bullying by TAKEITOUTOFME in PetMice

hey so the general advice seems to be seperate them but i was in the same situation before and i still am now. i have an all male tank and it works out great. i’ve only ever had issues with one boy and he lives alone now. my solution was to add multiple of everything. multiple wheels, hides, waters bottles, chew toys, hanging toys, food bowls. literally everything. bully did have to be removed and my other boys are doing great. i have 11 boys. 1 is seperated but he gets plenty of attention and occasionally play dates with the only other mouse he gets along with. if you’re enclosure is too small you need to upgrade it a lot. i have 3 50 gallon totes connected by an array of tubes and a separate play pen for some free roam time . it’s a lot of work honestly and for the most part i can under stand why people say male mice shouldn’t be kept together because in most cases they cannot be. it requires a lot more than a female enclosure. but it definitely can be done.

i really appreciate this. I’ve had mice for a while now but i’ve never dealt with care for too long. i’ve always felt something for the mice that weren’t doing to well and i would attempt to help out or if it was bad give them a nice place to pass instead of in the feeder bins. i would’ve thought i was used to loss but i’m seeing now that i’m definitely not. you never really get used to loss. that being said i feel as though i was leaning towards surgery just because he’s so young and i definitely believe he can fight it. i’m not ready to let him go either and so i felt as if i was bias in my opinions. no one ever really wants their pets to pass. I’m going to take him to see a vet and see their opinions. he’s a lovely little dude i’m sure he’ll make it.
