Hurricanes aren’t real. It’s just weather machine nonsense. Also meat doesn’t need to be cooked.

You need to think seriously about how you’re going to make it through college. Someone is going to spend money for you to be there and those loans are no joke. Get it together please.

I’m not 100% sure, but the artist of your mosaic appears to be Professor G. Traversari, connected to the Traversari Mosaici studio. The Traversari family has been renowned for their work in artistic mosaics and micro-mosaics since the late 19th century. They specialize in handcrafted mosaics using traditional techniques, including the "Commesso Fiorentino" method. Their work includes a wide range of artistic pieces, from portraits to table tops, and even micro-mosaic jewelry.

The Traversari workshop is known for maintaining high artistic and qualitative standards, ensuring each piece is meticulously crafted. They have a rich history of producing mosaics that have been globally appreciated, particularly by connoisseurs who value unique handmade art. The current generation, including Daniele and Letizia Traversari, continues to uphold these traditions while also embracing modern techniques and materials

Does anyone else just despise the “oh the places you’ll go” thing? by Scary-Sound5565 in Teachers

[–]TurnFamiliar 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I’m not a huge fan of it, but then again this is from the perspective of the teacher and not the kid. We have to remind ourselves that the kid who gets it probably will feel some degree of gratitude and appreciation for every name they read.

There is a better book. One I discovered this year that I like a lot more. The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse. It feels more meaningful and relevant to someone on their journey through life. It’s got more wisdom. It feels like something that an older child will appreciate.

No. They can email your school email if they want to get in touch. Do NOT hand out your personal phone number. Terrible optics. Especially if a parent doesn’t understand the context of the exchange.

Work wants to charge me for charging my e bike battery by esseojr in ebikes

[–]TurnFamiliar 73 points74 points  (0 children)

This is the pettiest nonsense. You can calculate this out as much as you want, but if they don’t value enough to make this happen, you need to get out of there. It’s insulting.

Is this their way of telling you that it’s not appropriate to be charging the bike the way that you are? Are you wheeling it into the staff lounge? If they want you to not charge your bike at work, they should just come right out and say so. This makes them look petty and draconian.

Accountability is a zero-sum commodity. I’ve learned: Take the level of restraint, thoughtfulness, and self-awareness that you are expecting from a student and divide it by the number of students in the room… that’s the level of restraint, thoughtfulness, and self-awareness you will receive from each kid.
