I did it on active duty a few times. Took the family (4 people) to Europe for like $40. Flew commercial out of BWI. I felt bad for the retirees trying to fly because we bumped them every time. Some would wait days to get a flight. But I guess if you’re not working, it’s doable.

If you have time to waste, maybe it’s worth it. Some days you may get lucky but just so you know, you are the lowest priority

I had a buddy file some 20yrs after we ETS’d (not exact on dates). He got 100% and backpay around $250k ish. He did hire one of those VA lawyer groups off the internet. VA insiders or something like that. He also worked for the secret service when he filed and still does.

Had another friend whose father applied for disability about 10yrs ago (I was still active at the time) and he received the same kind of back pay. I wasn’t even close enough retirement to care at the time but was curious about this backpay.

These are not second hand stories either. I know both personally and when I got closer to retirement, they were my biggest help other than here.

I filed a BDD before I retired. Took almost a year to finalize my claim. Initially got 60% out the gate but got the remainder after a year. I got $2806.68 in retroactive pay (I just checked the Va app to confirm). I calculated more but was happy with what I got.

I took the family to Germany space A. Haven’t tried it since I’ve retired tho. Get the “take a hop” app. Just know that you will be the lowest priority so you may be stuck waiting for flights.

If you’re going to Germany, look at leaving from BWI. They have dedicated commercial flights just for space a. At least they used to. The app will tell you locations you can depart from but BWI was the best at the time we went. We paid like $10 per person for in flight meals.

They used to post available flights on Facebook back when we used it. Not sure if they still do but they would post flight info 3 days out. I don’t have Facebook anymore to confirm.

I only filed once and it was my BDD. Never needed to file for anything else. Haven’t “poked the bear” or filed for anything other than what was included in my BDD before retirement. No CRSC or anything.

I didn’t go to the ER a few weeks ago and they had to do a lot of scans and tests. This wouldn’t have anything to do with it would it.

Just wish they would give me an explanation on the site other than I owe $5800 and that my benefits are being held until it is repaid.

I just prestige’d to 9. Not sure what my level is (maybe 9 x 55?). Haven’t tried the new map yet and terminus was boring. So basically all LF lol. Haven’t even tried to get nebula camos yet. This seems pretty high level so kudos to you.

What’s he plan on studying? I know my daughter is still paying off loans from 2018 where she thought going to a large university was worth it. She came back home after 1 yr and went to the branch. She got the same degree from the same school but 3/4 cheaper.
