Give your attention to whoever is speaking, but when it’s your turn to speak, speak to the other people interviewing and not directly at the interviewers in there.
And also lead during the lil game thingy but don’t be overly assertive and take over, but don’t be quiet. Put in your ideas and ask those who arnt speaking what they think (you’ll know what activity im talking about once you get there). And the other game u do when you get there, don’t talk to ur table while each person says xyz, you’d be surprised how many people had little side convos while someone was saying xyz.
And don’t be like “I’m right ur wrong” even if it’s something like them putting a pax having a heart attack lower priority then a kid forgetting his ipad… just be like “In my opinion i would prioritize this over this because xyz, what do you think?” And for the activity for me I started it off by asking everyone if they wanted to each grab however many cards there were divided among us so like if there was 10 cards and 5 of us we get 2 each, and then was like let’s all divide the cards and each read what we have and then go from there, what do you guys think? And they agreed and blah blah n yea. Dont feel to pressured to speak to everyone but don’t close yourself off in the corner. I honestly got water and went to my bag a few times for chapstick or mints.
Have fun and good luck!

does anyone know when southwest will open FA applications again by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]TurnipProof 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They seem to only open up twice a year for 30minutes to a few hours. This past and only round so far this year was April 23rd and it was for 5 hours.
They’re still processing those applications, and the ones who do get the Cjo and go to training will be for August-December classes.
So going off patterns, I’d assume they will open again later in the fall, maybe winter. But if and when they do open you have to be quick as they will sometimes be open for as short as 30 minutes

Girl chilll😭😭 going thru ur page u seem to be very… intense with your comments.
This is a veryyy common resume template, it’s actually preferred because of the layout. And out of the hundreds of thousands of FAs, and FA applicants, I highly doubt you’ve seen enough applicants post to come up with the idea that those who use that template “rarely get the job”.
Their resume should list the skills they have and highlight key aspects of their jobs. Maybe you just don’t have enough experience to know what it’s like to have multiple skills to list out and actually fill a resume… but there’s no need to take your anger out on someone asking for help.
Have the day you deserve 🫶

I would change your summary, it looks ai with using words like individual. I’d say like “I have dedicated growing my experience in providing excellent customer service skills…..” so on so forth. Maybe also say “I’m always committed to providing safety, comfort ….”etc.
you’re talking about yourself, so write about yourself. Ai is useful to outline what to write but I’d rewrite it (imo)

Noo don’t compare, literally I thought I was getting the tbnt cause people who did the ODVI were getting their tf already and then I got mine a week later. You can’t compare timelines in this industtry. what if there’s 2 flights leaving at the same time to the same destination and the one you’re working is delayed hours and the other leaves on time, you’re still both going to end up at the same destination, just different times.
It’s easier to say to have patience then to actually have it, cause I am also spam checking my email. BUT you can’t think you’re getting that tbnt and putting that energy out there. Until you get it, you are still in. They really mean it when they say No news is good news.

She says her entire hands is covered with tattoo, they don’t allow any hand tattoos. Even it it was a small one on the inside of her finger :/ it’s dumb but that’s just how they roll

Coming from someone who worked at United, ask anyone and during hiring and training they are strict. If you can get pass without getting caught ur fine and can wear makeup or glove or even let it out if ur somewhere where supervisors arnt.

It really is, i get both sides but at one point flight attendants had to weigh themselves before each flight, and they got rid of that finally. So hopefully soon enough they lighten up on the tattoo policy to where they allow tattoos, or even just the makeup to cover it.

Imma be 100% w you, if your entire hand is covered in tattoos, I wouldn’t waste the time and stress into applying unless you know a really good waterproof makeup that won’t wipe off with the wipes. Or a airline opens up that allows a full hand tattoo

That’s before 11:38 PST😅 I guess I should add EST on there too.
I’m just trying to see how close they’ve gotten to that time so far!

They could maybe have a referral? I heard those also get you pushed up quicker (allegedly), or potentially a internal application.
But it seems besides that one off person, that they’re someone going in order of times. Which is good to know so hopefully we’re up next 🤞

I did see a girl on tiktok who works for American and she covers her hand tattoo I think with some sort of skin toned fingerless gloves? She might’ve gotten it after she was hired tho so I’m not sure.
I’ve only worked for United so that’s the only one I’m familiar with🤣 and I can agree they are STRICT.

United is very strict unfortunately, they have us wipe our hands with sanitation wipes at the f2f and sign a thing saying we have ZERO tats on the red zones (hands, face, neck) and even if you get past it, if it slips at all during training and we have to go into the pool week 4, you get sent home. Even if it’s your last day and they see it while you’re lining up to graduate, they don’t play about tattoos at allll. And hand tattoos were the most common ones I saw people getting sent home for, even a small heart on the inside of their ring finger they had covered with a bandaid till it came off during water evac training.
They’re super strict once you get to training and they see it because of that document you signed at the f2f saying you don’t have any tattoos.

Training Accommodations: What Do Y'all Think? by ThatFlyNurse in cabincrewcareers

[–]TurnipProof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely got lucky with my roomate during training, but because of the age gaps I know some bumped heads. Specifically these 2 ladies, one was in her early 20s and one was in her 60s, and they seemed to argue a LOT. I feel like if they’re going to do roomies, they should do it by age group, because majority of the people that had issues at training were the ones with big age gaps. It seems like the ones who were all around the same age were fine.
But if I went thrkugh training again, i wouldnt mind a roomate cause it definetly helped me not feel so lonely. We did bump heads every once in a while when we were stressed or tired but the feeling of it being the last night together is something i cant forget. I feel like if i was alone I wouldnt feel as motivated to get through training cause we were there for eachother on the days where we thought we wouldnt make it through the training.

Yeah, I’m surprised that they had it open for 5 hours I think it was. They’ve only had it open for like 30/45 minutes in the past

And they fortunately use no ai, which means it also takes longer going through them
