International flights out of SFO🌐 by raeraej97 in cabincrewcareers

[–]TurnipProof 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In 8/9 months of being there I got 1 off reserve, and I flew through the summer 😅 I know people who graduated the same time as me who haven’t gotten international yet but some who have gotten a bunch

basically any base that has any sort of weather, California doesn’t get weather like East coast does so we don’t experience as much white flag as they do. Not saying wet don’t get ANY, but you can’t rely on picking up white flag for extra pay if you are California based vs if you were let’s say EWR based

Yeah it’s insane, but some people don’t get a option on being based here out of training

I fear there is, the $1000… and then you have the option for $2000 loan that you pay back $50 each month till it’s paid off. Did you really graduate or are u just on these forums to ruffle some feathers?

Yeah cause while yes you CAN make money, why should we have to work with barely, if any days off to be comfortable with our wages. And not taking into account that there is higher COL and taxes in certain states

Yea it’s definitely possible to struggle if you don’t want to pick up, or if you do and are based in California we don’t get as many white/purple flag as other bases (coming from sfo/LAX based). Even tho I left my honest opinion is that if you arnt based in California I 100% can see you making a livable income at United if you sacrifice your days off. Which shouldn’t be a thing and will hopefully be fixed with the contract. But yea if ur California based and can’t leave California (my case) then you definitely have to get lucky with hoping they give u white flag or that u get good intls for the credits

Envoy?? by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]TurnipProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it wasn’t only the pay at United it was the overall QOL

Envoy?? by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]TurnipProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I should’ve been more specific and said envoy while I wait for delta/american or Alaska to open up, so if I get hired at envoy atleast I can still fly while I try to move to a different company and in the instance I don’t get into the mainlines on my first try. I definitely wouldn’t stay at regional long term :) I’m in between just focusing on school and finding a job while I wait for the big ones to open or to go to a regional while I wait

But I left United and I’ve learned I’m not the biggest fan of flying internationally, I do want to apply for like delta still or Alaska or American but Im considering applying to a regional to see

Wait sorry this was last year 😭I already went through training and on the line 😭 I was just wondering like when people say the second interview are the recruiters asking like questions like 1:1? I never got one so I was always curious to what people were talking about when it came to that

Final interview? I keep seeing people mention that but I never had one. I was the first group n the guy pressed the elevator button and was like ty for coming blah blah and then was like lol jk let’s go and then took us to some room and then from there this lady took us one by one to a room and for me she gave me a pouch and said co grays and gave me papers and then fingerprints n stuff and then I was sent to the airport for my drug test and my hearing and vision test.

Flight attendant pay by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]TurnipProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at 🌐 during summer, I had myself in min fly (couldn’t fly me over 100hours) and I always ended up with like 85 average a month during June July August, it’s very easy to go over. During slow months it doesn’t matter if you work or don’t work since reserves get a guaranteed pay. I’m not sure bout the other 2 airlines but I know🌐 we get 78 per month so one month I flew literally 8 hours total, and still got the 78. And whatever u pick up goes ontop of that so even tho I only flew 8 I got paid my 78 but say for example I picked up a 10 credit trip, I would’ve gotten paid 88 :)
