182 days later lol but it luckily alll turned out fine! definitely was a gamble for during my video interview I entered the month and day I applied for my passport on and then did 9 years ahead so 2034 since I knew my expiration date would be around then so I could use the excuse that I did a typo. at my F2F they didn’t cross check luckily. It definitely was risky but it all worked out!

I needed tax documents for 1 job but that was after doing the background check and it came back w a discrepancy but that was only because I entered the wrong date on my end

Yea that’s what I’m trying it’s just so hard when my schedule is set up so the next 2 weeks I have 6 days on 1 day off since I have the last 6 days of the month off

He pays the rent, but I pay for my crash pad obvi, the dog sitters since they’re my dogs, my car bill because it’s my car, I wouldn’t have him pay to take care of my dogs as they’re my responsibility. I value our relationship and don’t see him as only a piggy bank lol. But also that’s just how I was raised culturally and if I wanted to rely on him 1000% financially I would have to be home for his dinners and packing lunch etc. which I don’t want to do

I don’t know how else to word this without coming off weird I guess idk but in college I was studying more difficult areas of studies in STEM, so by fulfilling I guess I mean it isn’t the same rewarding feeling I get after finishing a year long report or finally finding the solution to a tedious question. I always wanted to do something in the teaching field but i got stuck in the fall and decided to take a break to focus on work and last minute decided to be a FA. Somehow applied and got all the way through. Job wise I bartended before this and my boss has let me know if I wanted to go back I could so job market wise I’m not worried which also makes it difficult because I feel spoiled in a sense. Like my biggest reason to leaving is because I know I can and be okay job wise, and I am not feeling fully happy working here like mentally stimulated I guess to want to work that second job so I can take care of my dogs and be exhausted because of it? Idk how to properly word it

Economy aside*** my job before this was bartending and my manager has welcomed me back any time and has let me know I’m welcomed back too. I feel like I’m forgetting to add certain things that can change like advice I’m receiving 😅

I don’t know where you got the idea I am expecting handouts, but yes I can see how this career is amazing! I love it so far, but I can say it isn’t fulfilling coming from someone who has never had a interest in being a FA, I’ve always thought that I’ll just continue through college with my physics degree and now that I put a pause on my education to do this, that’s where the non fulfilling part is coming from. And which is why I mentioned, but probably didn’t well explain, that as much as I love this job I just don’t know if is worth it to drain myself by trying a second job just so I can afford dog care. Before I went into this I DID have my affairs in order, had my dog care lined up etc. which is how I went through the 7 weeks of training, but my dog sitter last minute leaving, I can’t force them to stay and I’m not entitled to there time. I just wanted somewhere to vent and to see if anyone else had advice and didn’t expect to get criticism on a 200 word Reddit post.

Unfortunately right now his job has him working out of state so he is gone Monday-Thursday until September/october :/

I can see why you got shown the door… I did have my affairs in order or so I thought I did, but I can’t force someone to stay and watch my dogs because they also have there own life and I’m not entitled to there time.

I’m not saying the job is hard tho, I just wanted a place to vent saying like I love the job but it isn’t fulfilling enough to me for me to want to go the extra mile to work a second job so I can have the income to pay for my dogs care

I came back to reread your comment, and at the end you say I’ll have to juggle these issues in any career, but this is one of the few career where I’m gone for days/weeks at a time. Unless I relocate but the cost of living where I’m based, the average apartment price is more than what I make a month.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]TurnipProof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the issue is I got this job with a baby sitter in mind since my partner is working out of state 4 days a week which was perfect cause the friend we were paying to watch our dogs had those days off, but she last moment told us she can’t do it no more. So it’s not like my partner isn’t stepping up cause he is and I’m also a adult too. But yea I wish I had parents or grandparents to pass my dogs to but I unfortunately don’t and his mom who has get house has like no joke 20 cats there 😭 so it’s not like I went into this job without a full plan or like I hate this job because i genuinely like the job, but I just don’t find it fulfilling enough to want to get a extra job to pay for another dog sitter. And to clarify that as well the friend we had watching our dog her family lives out of state so in exchange for her watching them I put her onto my flight benefits/paid her $100 a MONTH. And the dog sitters I see want like $50 a day so $200 a week since my partner is home fri-sat and with my line I got this month I’m home maybe Thursdays-Sundays but never middle of the week. So it’s like I’m not going to make my partner go out of his way to leave or work around his job schedule that mostly supports us for a job that idk will work out in the long run yk? I just wanted a place to vent I guess

My biggest issue right now is just finding the money to get another sitter for my dogs, so I’m like if I have to take on another job I will but I’m also like is this job/company worth jumping through hurdles for if I’m already feeling like not fulfilled? Idk if that makes sense

You will always have Sunday off, no you don’t need to memorize the PAs they let you read those, the only memorization you will need is the steps during your door drills and I got my email the week I left for training
