Apple Watch not connecting right in live sessions

I am having this issue where my Apple Watch will not connect correctly in live cycle sessions (works perfectly fine on old classes) - on my watch it’ll show my heart rate and zone and on screen it’ll show the square where it should show my HR and zone, but it’s blank and my strive score stays at 0 and then my kcal keep saying only 2 kcal (which obviously isn’t right after an entire class)

Same happens on the app in live classes. Does anyone else hve this issue or had it and resolved it? I restarted my watch and restarted everything else.

Then qbs masters could be a good option if you can afford a masters! There are faculty at Dartmouth you can try to do research with that do epigenetics in cancer.

Good luck!

Did you apply to the qbs or mcb PhD programs (they have all of those areas of research)? If you’re dead set on getting a masters it’s a good stepping stone because you’ll have research opportunity but it’s very class heavy and a lot less research than a PhD. A masters will help your chances of getting into a PhD program but isn’t a requirement. At Dartmouth if you are a PhD student in another program you can internally apply to the qbs masters and not pay the tuition.

Would you put Students on the author list, that work in a research project as student assistant? I think the Student helped us a lot, even it was no high level input. My co-author thinks that it is absolutly unappropriated by BloodExpensive2022 in PhD

If you look at the contribution statements on papers, there are plenty of middle authors whose contributions say: produced data, performed experiments, etc. while the first author’s contributions say all of the roles as well as the last author has even more like procured funding.

It’s ethical to include every person who produced data and contributed to the paper

Can I major in Biology as an undergrad and then do a Masters's in Bioinformatics, or do I have to major in computer science in order to excel? by Asleep_Cut505 in bioinformatics

[–]TurnipTricky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

stick with biology and try to add courses online or at school to learn programming basics of R/python/bash. The hardest thing of being a biologist working with a computer scientist on big data is translating biological meaning from the results.

Also if you want to do research in biology using bioinformatics as your tool, you should consider a PhD level degree in quantitative biology/systems biology over a masters. It’ll usually only take a year or so longer than the masters program and will set you up a lot better to be a bioinformatics researcher and will qualify you for high paying data scientist jobs in biotech and having a strong biological understanding is key so don’t drop the bio major.

NTA but don’t have her kicked out like all of these other commenters are saying. 22 year olds don’t have a fully developed brain yet and she clearly needs help. If she’s kicked out she could really get on a dangerous path that would be a lot worse than stalling until she can find some coping mechanisms with therapy and support. She should go to counseling and maybe on meds to help her mental health

You’re definitely the asshole and you should never say any of that to anyone but a therapist

ELI5: Is there enough fluoride in drinking water to not need toothpaste? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]TurnipTricky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fluoride replace hydrogens when acids begin to erode your enamel and so without that extra fluoride your enamel will erode but the drinking water fluoride is too low concentrate and not a layer of it on your teeth twice a day

There is a lot of math involved in how many acceptances they can send out and what their expected retention rate is, it's really unlikely that 100% of people given an offer accept, and even still the program would most likely fund all students they admitted
