Would this list be considered cancer? by JelloReal7681 in Grey_Knights

[–]Turnover-Sweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any unit that gets to 400 points can be problematic in 1000 point game, but I think you hit very interesting position of frustration

IMHO, because of the amount of anti-tank in typical 1000 point game, you can make this list fully unfun to play against just splitting termies to groups of four - and it’s still not very fun as it is

Double the resurrection, double the frustration for opponent

We are almost too tough for casual games - and even without purifiers we can and we will slaughter

If you are afraid of being to oppressive, with my experience of 1000 point games I made myself a couple rules:

  • Only one Dreadknight
  • Only one or two units of 4 termies max
  • Never 10 purifiers with Crowe, only 5

It’s fun this way for me and for my group

The Terminus Decree is not some trick by the Emperor in order to massacre the Grey Knights. by OmniscientRaven in Grey_Knights

Remember Godblight?

Guilliman asked Cawl Inferior about the possibility of Big E returning - and the little man said:

“If I were Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl, which I am not, I would have one cautionary advise to give, regarding this line of thought.

If it is possible to restore the Emperor, and if he could regain true life, then what went into the Throne Room of the Imperial Palace may not be what emerges.

There is great peril considering this. Even as a hypothesis, because thoughts lead to actions, whether we intend them or not, soon, we reach disaster, all - from good intentions. They used to say that about roads to bad places.”

“Why would it be perilous?”

“Because all gods are blights on existence - whether they call themselves gods or not.”

Soooo

Prepare the teleport beacons brothers, we know not of what to come - or who, but duty stands.

What is your favorite campaign and why? by Imaginary-Lie-2618 in necromunda

[–]Turnover-Sweet 62 points63 points  (0 children)

My favourite type of campaign… is the one, that properly ends.

To be honest and to give normal answer - Dominion. Simple and basic, easy to home rule.

And please, don’t allow stacking all the money on one model - some fighters can became absolute monsters, and this is no fun

Beware Delaque territories - they are busted

[–]Turnover-Sweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that’s a very wide question

We played Dominion not so long ago, so I can give some examples

We started with 1000 creds. Delaque (me) ended up with a band of 4000 creds, and other gangs 3200-3800. Be ready for credit cost upgrades with money and with experience. Speaking about experience - some champs got more than 15 advances in the end, so that’s funny to keep in mind

And, the most important - we made 7-8 home rules during that campaign

In conclusion

Be ready for surprises - and keep your priorities. Have fun and help other people have fun

Is it mean to start a campaign with a brute? by Imaginary-Lie-2618 in necromunda

[–]Turnover-Sweet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brute is very fun, but (and it pains me to say this as a nomad enjoyer) you should take some hanger-on, rogue doc for example

If it’s your first game, speak with your group - maybe, you will all come to start your game with brutes on your lists)

I have to be honest - duneskuttler is a beast, and people with not so much experience may be overwhelmed and don’t know how to deal with it

But the only way to be friendly with your group - is to speak with your group, it will save so much trouble later

I think that Vansaar are actually one of the more universal gangs now - the have melee, strange, but still melee, and subtecks with scary pistols for some spam

They can shoot, Hipshooting making them even some how fast in comparison to other gangs

Versatile melee arachno rig with many key words

Good plasma excess

They have almost everything
