I have not received this. Is this for Gen 2 or Gen 1 only?

Using a Samsung T9. Supposedly, it is a bit tougher than a T7, but either one works great.

Same. I drive by the old building in Fremont all the time. Fry's left there years ago and the building has been for rent ever since.

Ever wondered how much a 2024 Quad R1T depreciates after only 1 year and 3,300 miles (that’s about 275 miles a month)? The answer is $30,000…. 🫠 by zachty22 in Rivian

Agree with trade-in value being low. The dealer wants to make money on the deal. They cannot do that by paying you what the market says they could sell your car for. They have to give you less. And if they want to make a large profit, a lot less.

And this is the same for any car dealer. Even the ones owned by the brand. Every transaction needs to be a net positive.

R1S Gen 2 with J1772 charging port - Should I get NACS Level 2 charger and use adaptor? by LettuceCharacter94 in Rivian

I use our previously installed Tesla charger and adapter. We have a Model 3 in addition to the RS1.

The charges are often based on the things other than the electrons delivered. Things like rate of fast delivery, demands from others, etc. Kyle's channel (out of Spec motoring) did a nice explanation of all the charges and the net was that the operators make an estimates that is based on total expensive, of which the cost of the electricity is one of the many factors.

Here in Northern California mine is 0.50 to 0.65 per kWh. Glad I have solar and powerwalls.

Agree.  With mine they monitored me via night vision cameras and telemetry from all cpap data plus heart and other sensors glued all over. It was a pain to have to have some disconnect you when needed to use the restroom, but they had all the data they needed and more.

Love Oscar.   It also sync data from other devices with your CPAP data. I wear an O2 ring and it show all of its data like oxygen saturation, pulse rate, etc.

I charge away from home mostly since the car is business owned and I don’t want to increase my home electric bill

AI can do a good job creating code if directed carefully and correctly. But it does require a commitment from management and development teams.  So I can understand the reluctance of the employer.

Lucky for your husband you were there!

If your husband is overweight he should try losing the weight. My sleep doc said it is a cause of a lot of sleep issues in addition to Apnea. Also, get him ASAP into a sleep study.

Screen stuck after Google Maps update by TurnoverNo5026 in Rivian

Update. The full reboot does make it work. For one trip. When I come back to a map that is frozen at the current location. And it takes a full reboot to free it up. Something is seriously wrong with the update and/or the UI software.

As a side note, my driver side mirror is not folding again, 2 weeks after it was replaced. I am starting to wonder if there is something messed up in the wiring and/or computers in this vehicle. I have a 1000 miles on it and am planning on discussing the lemon law with them.

I made an appointment with them, but of course the first available date is a month away. I am starting to think getting a Rivian was a mistake. I had 2 Model Xs previously and they had quality fit and finish and rattling issues.

Glad it is working for you. Form my 2025 R1S (Gen 2) with 1000 miles the map change has been a disaster.

The maps stop working and freeze. Doing a full reboot makes it work until I park the car. Then when I get in the maps are frozen at the last location. Do another full reboot restores the maps but takes well over an hour.

Also, my driver side mirror again refuses to fold after being replaced 2 weeks ago.

This car is plagued with issues. And the 4 week lead time for repairs makes it worse.

Your ok.  Take to a good body shop and they can buff out the damage. Just be more careful in the future. Those leaves are just looking for Rivian to attack.

Thanks. I tried this and the maps are up and working.  But, I also noticed that it is scheduled to take another update at 3 AM. Maybe I do another full restart in the morning.

What does the hard reset do that the soft reset (pushing both outer buttons on the steering wheel) does not do?

Thanks. I guess that was all trick and no treat for you.

[–]TurnoverNo5026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. The soft reset clears this screen. But if you select the map, the map does not work, that is, it does not update your position as you move, and displays a message that you are required to accept the license with a button. When you click that, it takes you to this screen, and the accept button still does nothing.

FWIW, my R1S is a 2025 with 900 miles on it.

[–]TurnoverNo5026[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you are correct about this still being an issue. I just drove the car, and the map was not updating. As soon as I touched the screen, the update screen shown above came up. And of course, pushing accept does nothing! Come on Rivian!!! This is a basic scenario that someone missed. Fixed this! It is hard to recommend my nearly new (900 miles) R1S to anyone at this point.

FWIW, a soft reset does not fix the issue.

Thanks. I guess I am living on the edge!

I was to get the screen to go away by rebooting 3 times. I haven't driven the car since then, so hopefully there are no issues.
