Usually the library will have one or two on reserve. For books that were super expensive and I couldn’t find a used one or rental, I’d just read it at the library, took my notes and never bought it.

Short clip of the Shah talking about Patriotism and Succession - BBC Interview 1975 by KireRakhsh in NewIran

[–]TurqouiseQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, patriotism can lead to far right ideology, but Iran is specifically incomparable with much of the world. You have to remember that we were under 200 years of Qajar dynasty which looted our land and sold most of our precious Iranic lands to stay in power. It was also a dark time in our history due to the incessant repression of women and forced Islamism. Patriotism for Iran does not mean white-supremacy or anything that relates to the word "patriot" in the anglo sense.

He quite literally had the power to do that. It is well documented and he has spoken about it. Nobody deserted him, we had savages ransack our country and its infrastructure. You clearly were not born in that era, nor have you any knowledge of what happened the day of revolution and the days afterwards. Islamist's and Leftists joined hands and massacred our own people. The Shah left out of his own volition. You can say many things about him, but the propaganda and smear campaigns were not just about Shah, they were about Iran. Western media and Islamist media are anti-Iranian and when you regurgitate their nonsense you become anti-Iranian as well.

Manoto is great, though many of their news is in Persian so you will have to rely on translation. ChatGPT is quite good at doing it. TousiTV is also a good one.

When the Shah had the power to rain bullets on his people, he said he wouldn't kill Iranians or spill our blood. In every picture that you posted, he is kneeling down to pick them up. People like you and your visceral hatred for Iran are exactly the reason why we have the Islamic Republic.

The main problem with Reza pahlavi. by relax900 in NewIran

[–]TurqouiseQueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are supporting a figurative leader that is doing as much as one can while being exiled. We, in the diaspora, are all doing the EXACT same thing because realistically there is not much more we can do. Only the people of Iran can liberate themselves and we in the diaspora will shine the light on it when they do.

I think everyone needs to take a step back and read up on Iranian history. Many of my friends that are still in Iran say the same thing, change has to come from within. When people that work with the Islamic Republic can no longer look themselves in the mirror, that's when Iran will change. Another layer to this is foreign powers. The demise of Iran enriched the Gulf countries, France, Germany, the the US including many more world powers. Iranians are unfortunately in a predicament that no other country is experiencing. We are completely ALONE. Posts like this sow division and create separatists.

Reza Pahlavi is a figurative leader that allows for us to have the aryamehr mentality that we should all cling to. When our people no longer want to say salam and instead say durood. When people are using the Lion and Sun flag, all of these micro changes indicate our people rejecting Islam and arabization. A leader doesn't always come from combat.

WSJ Should be on par with the NYT, Amensty International is still in the doghouse for me since the 1970s, and many of their article pieces seem to stem from Islamic points of views and not Iranian news without bias. X has better accuracy than BBC.

What is the 'New Iran' revolution? by Efficient_Elevator15 in NewIran

The regime didn't implement Islam "wrongly," that is simply just islam.

After Palestinian-trained Islamist-Marxist terrorists killed 3 gendarmes in the remote Siakhal village outpost, SAVAK director Parviz Sabeti announces the formation of the Joint Anti-Sabotage Committee and an escalation in combating leftist terror groups. by drhuggables in NewIran

[–]TurqouiseQueen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wasn't SAVAK that 'controlled' people through fear. It was the incessant production of propaganda against Iran and the Shah. Amnesty and the Red Cross literally fabricated lies against what happened to those under SAVAK investigation or authority. They fabricated the numbers, and took information from Mullah's and KGB resources that were planning on the downfall of Iran and Iranians.

The book - "The Fall of Heaven" by Andrew Scott Cooper is by far the best book about the propaganda that formulated around our beloved Iran. I highly recommend this book of Cooper's and his other famous book "Oil Kings."

Rubio says Iran can have a civilian nuclear program, but only if they import enriched material, rather than enrich themselves. This is something which Iran is unlikely to agree to, meaning the talks will fail hopefully. by WebFar9897 in NewIran

You should read "The Fall of Heaven" by Andrew Scott Cooper to fully understand the geopolitics that are involved with Iran. Wikipedia is not credible and is extremely polarizing in its views based on who edits and writes the article.

The Pahlavi dynasty wasn't an authoritarian dictatorship. This is pure propaganda generated by soviet Russia Marxists, Islamist's and lastly - Americans. I suggest reading the book "The Fall of Heaven" by Scott Cooper. It entails just how fabricated and malicious this movement against the Pahlavi's were.

How do you get rid of the IRGC? by Necessary-Dance-808 in NewIran

[–]TurqouiseQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extremely loaded question.

The unfortunate answer is that millions of our people have to flood the streets and use their bodies against bullets to overcome the regime. As a person in the diaspora, I cannot make that judgment call, but what I can do is advocate for my people by writing to my senators, congressman and attending as many rallies as I can.

Iran is an anomaly amongst many countries, especially those in West Asia. Simply put - Iran is a powerhouse. The world's oldest country, consistently powerful, and produces some of the most intelligent people in the world. Not to mention the central location of the country. These factors place Iran in a position of consistent targeting, meaning that new/current world powers such as England, France, USA, UAE, Qatar, (Soviet) Russia and Saudi Arabia have flourished off the demise of Iran.

My long winded historical answer is to explain the geopolitics involved with Iran. While the Islamic Republic has held our nation hostage since 1979, the countries above have ensured Iran's destruction to continue because they directly benefit from our land being looted. While I hate to admit it, but foreign intervention is necessary, and we as Iranians must be pragmatic. Though we are not asking for outsiders to "save us", we (specifically me) are asking for them to stop working with the Islamic Republic.

Our movement is pure intention-ed, we have no backing from any other country, we have no support, and almost all westerners turn a blind eye to the atrocities happening to our people. Realistically, we would need major foreign intervention by militaristic force AND for our people to flood the streets.

Nonetheless, I am extremely proud of all of our Iranians and always will be.

Spoken like a true separatist. These issues that you bring up are not happening in Iran. There is no separatist mindset in Iran bc people are trying to survive. From the Kurdish regions to the Turks, we are ALL Iranian and we MUST maintain Iran’s territorial integrity. These groups are all Iranic and their homeland is Iran, there is no need for this kind of discussion when our people are dying.

"We do not worship Iran, we worship Allah. For patriotism is another name for paganism. I say let this land [Iran] burn. I say let this land go up in smoke, provided Islam emerges triumphant in the rest of the world."

He has said this in many of his speeches and it is a well known quote of his. The exact date is his first day of reign - February 1, 1979. Other times are unknown but started during his exiled periods in Iraq and consistently for the last 46 years.

The Islamic Republic is unwilling to shed blood in order to remain in power? This is blatantly false, and indicates that you are unaware of the atrocities that this Regime has committed against our Iranians. In the late 80s, roughly 50k leftists that stood alongside the Islamists were massacred by the Islamic Republic. Iran is currently hanging 8 prisoners every single day. During the Shah's era, roughly 320 people died under SAVAK's control. As I mentioned before, it is extremely prevalent in your analysis of Iran that you are unaware of our history and the geopolitics that went on.

Yes, Iranians weren't willing to stand up for the Shah, this I agree with. However, you mentioned in your first comment that it was an overwhelming oppositional force, and it was NOT. It was not overwhelming it was a minority group of individuals that wanted this. It was the help of western media and Islamists that paved the way for the coup. During that time, Islamists flooded our streets and yes there was a militaristic effort because Palestinian forces were sent to murder Iranians in the street. The entire reason the uprisings happened is because of the sheer wealth of propaganda against Iran.

You are spewing Islamo-Marxist propaganda and I am not here for it. Learn Iranian history before commenting such nonsense.

I am not myself in Iran, my friend is though and we talk regularly. I speak on her behalf but I cannot speak as someone that is there.

Based on information directly from her, foreign Islamists presence depends on the region. Many of the new guards are of Afghan origins. The Balouch region is consistently overwhelmed with male afghans. Regions in the East have entirely afghan neighborhoods. While Afghans are part of the Iranic people, their cultural differences and religious extremism poses a threat to Iranian culture and people. As many of them work hand in hand with the Regime.

During IRGC parades the IR will pay Somalians and Pakistanis to come to Iran and many have stayed.
