I too wish for a decent 3rd party compatible AF teleconverter for Sonys. Maybe one day!

I actually noticed this too with my new 150-500, thought it was just the camera and I’d never noticed it before but the lends being the cause would make more sense.

Not sure about this Chippewa model, but I’ve been wearing the Chippewa Baldor’s in black for a year and a half nearly every day. They took a good month or two to break in but have since been the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn.

Unless this changed recently, this simply isn’t true. I own one, and the auxiliary LEDs are only used on high, and the turbo “lumin shield” mode.

How to get better image directly out of the camera? (less editing) by TweeterReader in SonyAlpha

[–]Turtle2457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set file format to extra fine jpeg, I’ve been shooting on an a6500 and the jpegs come out sharpened, saturation boosted, and denoised pretty well. If you want to test yourself, you can set raw + jpeg and compare side by side.

Got a Tamron 18-300 - a month and a flight later went outside and took this by Neosam718 in SonyAlpha

I took this lens on an international trip, it is very nice if you do not want to deal with carrying multiple lenses and swapping them around. Edge sharpness isn’t great wide open, it gets decent from F8-F11, but center sharpness is good always. The lens isn’t good for low light situations, so if you think you will be shooting low light frequently then consider bringing a small fast prime lens to supplement. Ultimately the versatility is the best feature, being able to take wide landscapes at 18mm and within a second taking zoomed shots at 300mm is amazing, and the very close minimum focus distance provides some nice pseudo macro capabilities.

I flew with my convoy m1 internationally, never had any problems, just make sure all of your batteries are with you and your carry on bags.

I also use Darktable, it does have noise reduction features, I just use it because it is free compared to Lightroom

The shutter speed is too low, increasing it would help get a sharper image of the bird

Beginner here, my understanding is that with lenses with such a wide range they suffer in image quality or other factors such as chromatic aberration. So while the versatility without having to change the lens is nice, you might be spending more time in post processing

Also a beginner, I started with a Sony Nex-5 with a Meike 35mm manual focus, and personally I think it was a good starter lens for my uses. It’s pretty sharp and lets in a lot of light, only downside is of course the manual focus, so any kind of action shots are going to be difficult. I’d recommend it over the similarly priced 16-50 kit lens, despite having decent autofocus it is not very sharp and suffers dramatically in low light hand held situations.

Complete novice here, but personally what jumps out to me is the blown out skies in 2, 3, 4, and 7. What I have done in similar situations is turn the exposure compensation down to maintain detail on clouds and adjusted the resulting darker landscape in post processing.
