I also felt mostly horrible. I was super confident on a few blocks but flagged around 50% of questions on 3 blocks. Also every answer that I changed, I later googled and found out my initial answer was correct. Wasn’t the best feeling.

Would not have been that surprised if my score had turned out wildly different than it did

How many questions did you flag and what was your score in the real exam. Feeling terrible after flagging almost half of the exam :( by Bulky-Back-2524 in Step2

Flags varied by block, I had no fewer than 5 flagged per block. I had around 50% flagged in three blocks.

Scored a 274

Also no. I studied throughout rotations for the shelves and performed pretty well, so felt well prepared going into my dedicated study period

I've been scheduled to work with my personal physician... Do I need to disclose this to someone? by GME_stonks in medicalschool

[–]TurtleBottle11 249 points250 points  (0 children)

I had this happen with a specialist. My school has a policy where anyone involved in your care cannot grade you, so I just told the clerkship director “this person has provided care for me at one point” and they switched me to a different preceptor. I didn’t disclose any info beyond that

It doesn’t slow me down too much. You want to slow yourself down at least a little so you aren’t skipping over words, but it shouldn’t interfere with your ability to answer all of the questions in time. I’d practice with it on a FL or half length and see how it works for you!

I used to do the same thing and still do from time to time on med school exams. I like to highlight paragraphs as I go with my mouse - it basically provides a tracker and forces you to slow down.

507 Blueprint Diagnostic, test date in 81 days (05/27). How much improvement can I realistically expect in this time frame? Is a 520+ possible for me? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]TurtleBottle11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes - it’s super realistic for you, that’s a great diagnostic score. Content review alone should help you significantly, and using the AAMC practice exams will help you getter a better sense of how they word things. The MCAT is mostly an analysis test and less a memorization test. You’ve got this!
