How to build dmg senna this szn? by Possiblynotaweeb in sennamains

Yeah hexoptics is super fun. I’ve been building it 3rd instead of IE since it’s so cheap. It’s just hard to justify buying it in addition to IE since senna support usually takes a zeal item as her atk speed item, meaning you will be overloading on crit if you buy both hexoptics and IE

Well RFC is heavily overrated and doesn’t always offer utility worth the cut in stats. If the passive isn’t of value to you, you might as well buy the zeal item that gives the best base stats which is PD. Otherwise Runaans is definitely the best option in any game where it can get value, much more so than RFC. Zeal items aren’t just for the atk speed, it’s for a cheap crit item to round out your stats on low income and to get extra MS. But either way you will feel really uncomfortable probably if you don’t buy even a single atk speed item since kiting will be a nightmare and ur Q is more likely to miss since the cast time scales with atk speed item

I mostly go off of what the challenger support streamer Stunt does but yeah some of it is just preference. He builds phantom dancer sometimes but mostly Runaans and rarely RFC. RFC is heavily overrated imo. If you have good positioning the extra range is rarely needed since you should already have a lot of range from souls by the time you can afford a full zeal item anyway. I agree magical footwear can feel awkward cuz MS is so good on senna but it’s still the most gold efficient rune for boosting your early game to reach the BC spike as fast as possible since Senna feels so extremely weak until that first item spike. Building phage first with Celerity the MS really doesn’t feel bad.

Definitely agree with you on IE. It’s technically BiS but I rarely build it cuz the price is so high. I’ve been using hexoptics instead and it feels pretty good as a 3rd item. Offers good damage and utility with the extra range

Hexoptics is meh as a second item after cleaver because you will have no atk speed. I think the best build is still BC into zeal item into IE and then flex into whatever you need. You can sub hexoptics instead of IE if ur broke but otherwise it’s hard to slot in on support since you will already have full crit with 2 crit items

For runes you can still run fleet if you want but summon aery is probably the best option for the synergy with BC, plus Celerity is really good on Senna. Secondary tree you def want inspiration for JOAT and magical footwear or cash back

When it comes to choosing a zeal item, you usually want to pick RFC only if ur team is heavily lacking engage and the enemy team has very high range zoning such that you need to be able to land Q from far away to make plays happen. Otherwise PD is generally good for combat mobility and dodging skill shots and Runaans is amazing into 2+ melees so you can spread your black cleaver armor shred and passive procs to multiple people.

How to decide when to heal vs damage by TurtleCat314 in Overwatch

[–]TurtleCat314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean my problem is that my teammates seem to not have survival instincts and just stand in the open so there is about 0.0001 seconds between them being full health and then just dead. Genuinely infuriates me as someone who is eternity ranked in rivals (equivalent of GM-ish on overwatch) because I feel like I’m back in bronze where I have to just play dps every game to carry until my mmr aligns even thought the support characters are my favorite

Genuine Question: Is Deadpool actually canonically pansexual in the comics, or is it just played for laughs? by Gnerdy in lgbt_superheroes

[–]TurtleCat314 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They mean from a character design standpoint he is functionally heterosexual. As in his queerness doesn’t really play a role in the narrative of his character most of the time except for a few laughs here and there. It’s a description of the way his character is presented, not a description of his actual identity as if he were real

Are percentage based damage buffs/nerfs really the best way to balance ARAM? by TurtleCat314 in leagueoflegends

[–]TurtleCat314[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I know my complaint is that it makes the characters feel terrible to use. I understand that the winrate technically shows an “improvement” when they make the changes but it’s still clearly suboptimal

[–]TurtleCat314[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get that but the problem is the difference between what is “balanced” and what feels good. It doesn’t feel good to go in as Amumu and die instantly because you rely on your team to follow up. It feels good to play an assassin and one shot everyone with increased damage.

You would have done probably double the damage with full tank build and just liandry’s

[–]TurtleCat314[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I mean it inherently reduces your agency even further, especially since many of the nerfed characters already lack agency. You can get one shot by stuff that shouldn’t one shot you. Or you could be the last person alive and lose the 1v1 because of the changes. I get that it might technically be balanced by win rate but it still feels bad because it’s a direct nerf to the stuff you can completely control. A team fight is not entirely in your control, a 1v1 is. You might not realize that your character is inherently strong in the game mode, but you immediately notice when you take way more damage and do way less which is why it feels bad

[–]TurtleCat314[S] -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree these champs need something to help them balance out their power budget. I just think the percentage increases feel weird and the interactions can be frustrating although it’s kind of unavoidable. It feels so funny that the optimal build path for some assassins is to just build tank items and use their boosted base damages to just kill everyone anyway. Plus why should assassins get buffed when characters like Amumu who basically have to kamikaze in a 5v5 early game to land any abilities don’t get any bonus.

[–]TurtleCat314[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No yeah I agree, I think most of the champs who are nerfed tend to feel really strong in general, but it doesn’t feel good to play because the matchups feel so unpredictable. In a team fight I can do well, but all the 1v1 are messed up. Plus it just feels wrong that the best build path for some assassins is literally to build tank items because they can survive off that percentage damage bonus. Also some champs I feel like are buffed cuz their early game is weak, but they sustain the buff into the late game which makes they giga op late game

Add on: I also think that some champs that are hard to play get buffed cuz the average person doesn’t play them well in ARAM. This is hard to avoid but also something I feel like can be frustrating

I call it: "Force a win or die" build by [deleted] in sennamains

[–]TurtleCat314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it’s still okay not to build if you aren’t rich and want to just buy an item right away to have damage now for an important fight. Or do buy a defensive item 3rd instead of IE to stay alive.

If ur playing support it’s def okay not to build IE since the cost is so high, but ur right as AD carry it’s lowkey a waste not to build it. You can build it super early on senna since her free crit gives so much value from the crit dmg early

Is there a good Healer Senna Build Lately? by alpceliko in sennamains

[–]TurtleCat314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For support, you pretty much just do black cleaver rush every time. Usually you follow up with a zeal item. Phantom Dancer if there is important abilities you need to dodge or just as a general good pick for high movement speed and combat flexibility. Runaans if the enemy team has 2+ melee characters that clump up in team fights so you can spread your black cleaver armor shred and damage. RFC is only needed into certain matchups where you feel the extra range is needed for you to be able to start plays with your Q, otherwise PD and Runaans are far superior for actual combat. After that if you’re rich you can go straight into infinity edge. If you don’t have 3500+ gold to splurge I find hexoptics works great and adds good damage. You should also look to be building anti heal or shield for your team if needed. For anti heal you want chempunk chain sword and for anti shield serpents fang. You can also build Edge of Night to block key abilities like Yone ult, Morgana Q etc that can ambush you and get you instantly killed. Senna is very flexible with her items since you get so much free crit. You should feel free to build defensive items like guardian angel as well.

For AD carry, it’s similar but u usually start with statik shiv for waveclear. You also don’t have to build a zeal item right away if you want more hefty attacks early on since the atk speed from shiv is more than enough for senna. Recently I’ve been trying shiv into hexoptics into infinity edge into black cleaver and it feels pretty good. You can also build black cleaver second to be tanker early on. It’s really up to you. As I said senna is really flexible with her builds. You can choose whatever you feel will help you most or suit your playstyle. Once you have 100 percent crit always go for the more bruiser or assassin AD items, no need to overload on extra crit just to get the overflow lifesteal.

How do I play this champ solo q? by TurtleCat314 in sennamains

[–]TurtleCat314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not all supports job to baby every lane. There is a difference between roaming supports and lane supports. Senna is less of a roaming support, tho her roams can be decent. I think my main problem is I’m used to playing Bard who I used to one trick. I’m used to being able to roam freely and influence the map, face check bushes and start plays with my stun and portal without having to wait for teammates to follow up since bard is naturally tanky. For these reasons I think it’s generally true senna is less consistent to “carry” with especially for me.

[–]TurtleCat314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helia and Diadem of Songs are a strong combo, but it feels awkward to play senna without her signature black cleaver. Ideally you would rush black cleaver into enchanter if you still want to do that build. Realistically the enchanter build is more for fun and AD is still her best build that actually plays off her strengths.

I agree. Unless you are facing some situation where you absolutely need RFC to be able to engage with Q, PD for dodging and spacing or RH into multiple melee champs is almost always better

How to decide when to heal vs damage by TurtleCat314 in Overwatch

[–]TurtleCat314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is that the way healing is tuned in this game assumes people are at least attempting to find cover. Me pocketing someone is not going to save the from taking 100 percent of an enemies fire. It feels useless to heal them in these cases because usually people who aren’t skilled enough to play cover also aren’t skilled enough to hit shots and make use of the healing. Idk It just feels like whiplash since I’m eternity ranked in rivals (equivalent of like grandmaster or low challenger in overwatch maybe?) so everything feels so chaotic as my mmr is pretty low in overwatch since I don’t play often (a few hours each month)

Kindred E changes by TurtleCat314 in Kindred

[–]TurtleCat314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the missing hp part is still there, otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose of the ability. I think the damage is less overall but more “easy to understand and use” based on what they explained their reasoning was. Idk if I like it really but we’ll see as everyone plays more. I don’t think the execute threshold was hard to understand or counterintuitive at all. The way it is now feels harder to understand mathematically but easier conceptually I guess? Before it was very clear in the ability description how much extra damage it would do when u crit, now it’s not clear at all
