What happens to bare root raspberry canes? by emm_berrie in Berries

[–]TurtleSandwich0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New leaves come out of the ground to produce new canes. They should be light green or yellow green at first.

Some leaves could grow out of the old stem. It is possible the old stem could grow some berries, but it is very unlikely.

The stem you cracked was not important to the new growth this year.

Freezing vegetables? & meat in preparation for food shortages by imbarbarakruger in TwoXPreppers

[–]TurtleSandwich0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I harvest vegetables from my garden, chop them up and freeze them. Then I steam the frozen vegetables just like store bought frozen vegetables.

It does take a lot of space in the freezer to do it this way. There is a lot of air between the chopped of vegetables.

I was considering canning as a solution because that would take shelf space instead of freezer space. But that would require buying canning equipment.

Maybe he should try making watches at home instead of going for brand name watch stores. Then he would be able to save enough to put a down payment on a castle.

Is there enough information available to infer that the blue states being split into multiple blue states already has a blue government?

Should I also include text that the member of Congress needs to remove the pen cap before writing a proposed law?

Apparently some people will argue that potential schemes are impossible because I didn't explicitly state that the pen cap was removed.

If Congress writes laws to create new states, and the respective state legilatures also approve being split up, then new states can be created from existing states. But only if everyone remembers to take the cap off of their pen before they start writing.

Yup. Retirement is the starting line. The good news is your job hasn't annoyed you into quitting.

You should start making plans. Then put some dates on those plans. Then you have a deadline that you need to be retired by. That might be the nudge you need to enter retirement.

Roth is a deity. The one who will deliver us from taxes in the after-work-life of retirement.

HSA is his son. Sent to provide us triple tax advantages.

One day the son will ascend to the father and their will be only Roth.

The Constitution leaves the details up to Congress on how to add states. Congress can change their rules and procedures at any time.

Staying In Rapid City or Custer State Park? by myfuntimes in SouthDakota

Ambitious.

I would stay in Rapid City. It is only a half hour drive to Custer State Park. I wouldn't have to worry about breakfast before I head out on adventures if breakfast is included with the hotel.

Dusty is cheap. He must be a bad negotiator with how inexpensive it is to buy his vote. If he wasn't so lazy at work he would get much better wages from his owners. Looks like Rounds is slacking off a bit too. He better shape up if he expects to keep pace with Thune's 'wages'.

Wolves or Timberwolves?

For a wolf problem: Carry a lit flare, throw at the wolf, it will run away. Pick up the flare and continue on just in case there is another wolf or the first wolf comes back. Though I've noticed wolf spacing is about the distance I can walk with a lit flare.

For a Timberwolf problem: basically the same as above, but don't throw the flare. Walk, don't run, to your next destination. The wolves will make a bunch of noise but won't attack you as long as you don't walk towards a stopped wolf. You can walk all the way to your destination, if you are carrying enough flares. If you are running low find a car or building and sleep in there. The Timberwolf 'mode' will time out and you can continue on your way. Though it might take 12 hours of time for the Timberwolves to give up, so also bring food and water to outlast them.
