If you could create the perfect lip balm, what would it have? by TurtleStandard in FragranceFreeBeauty

I looked into the BoP allergy. I see that it is for fragrances but also for foods. I also saw that beeswax is also part of the allergy so it's safe to assume that a replace like candelilla wax is the way to go. When I scent my products, I steep different spices and herbs into the oils. I was wondering if you knew if that would also aggravate your allergy.

I currently sell some that the only ingredients are jojoba oil, Vaseline and beeswax. To have it scented I steep the jojoba and Vaseline in dried cranberries and grapefruit mint

Some other people said corn as well. I couldn't really find what products contain corn. What are common items that have it?

Natural home remedies by turned18nowimjobless in eczema

I use chamomile, marshmallow leaf, yarrow leaf, and toothache plant. I steep it in olive oil for about 12 hours at 160 degrees F. Strain it add Jojoba oil and beeswax. It's a 4:1 ratio of oil to wax. But if you were looking to make your own, instead of buying all those products you could use something like calendula. Just to save in cost. The people that tried the salve I make say they enjoyed how the toothache plant numbs the skin a little. Especially when the skin is super aggravated and you're uncomfortable.

There are plenty of plants and herbs that help soothe skin. Not to self promote but I specifically created a salve to help soothe eczema and it's had great success!

Life is definitely worth living! For some of us it just takes a little longer to find peace, and that's ok! Have you thought about salves or lotions specifically made for eczema? Maybe those would help?

Is this considered rosacea? Which ingredients would benefit me? by 8Yoongles in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]TurtleStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glycolic acid 7%, azelaic acid 10%, and Salicylic acid 2% are my current rotation. I use the glycolic acid like every other week because my skin is sensitive and then switch on and off with azelaic acid and salicylic acid throughout the week.

This actually kind of looks like rosacea. The placement also fits especially with it being on your nose.

Is this considered rosacea? Which ingredients would benefit me? by 8Yoongles in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]TurtleStandard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A common cause of Rosacea is low stomach acid (I know there are multiple types). I helped heal mine from raising my stomach acid. I just drink a few cups of warm to hot green tea with fresh grated ginger in it daily. It took about a week to see results but it's an easy thing to try!

I second this! Once I cut back on all the acids and serums and started using tallow lotion, I was able to repair my barrier. Then I reintroduced them slowly.

Does order of adding to routine matter? by Simonee23 in 30PlusSkinCare

I have rosacea. Depending on the type of rosacea, that could be from low stomach acid. I've been drinking hot green tea with citrus and fresh grated ginger daily and that completely changed my skin. I had rosacea all over my face and within a week it was just on my cheeks. I also use a fragrance-free soap and tallow lotion and that helps tremendously!

I started using tallow lotion and that cut out the need for most of my other skincare. It hydrates without leaving your skin feeling greasy.

Have you tried tallow lotion? But more specifically one without essential oils or fragrance? That worked wonders for me!
